Now that the weather is finally heating up , one woman is determined to ensure people don’t leave their baby in a hot car.
She’s doing so by providing a genius tip on TikTok . It actually makes soo much sense. It’s something you can also do to keep your dogs safe!

Even the most caring and attentive parents can leave a child alone in a hot car by accident.
According to one Canadian study, this is called “ forgotten baby syndrome .”

Tragically, the consequences of leaving a baby in a hot car are often deadly.
In Canada, there has been, on average, one child death in a hot car per year since 2013.
In the US, 42 children died from a hot car in 2019.
This tragic circumstance is even more common with pets.
More often than not, owners will take their furry friends along for a ride and leave them in the car while they run their errands.
Some make the mistake of thinking so long as they crack a window, their pet will be fine.
In reality, nothing could be further from the truth.
The temperature inside a car can rise as much as 40 degrees in the span of only an hour. Even with the window cracked, your pet can still suffer from heatstroke and in some instances — even death.
One TikToker is hoping to change all that.
Kristy Wilson, @pinkjeepgirltx , recently became a grandmother. While she was out running around town with her grandson, she felt compelled to share a brilliant new memory hack with her friends and followers.
The video shows her driving with only one shoe on.
There’s a lot more going on here than just Kristy’s brightly colored fluorescent toenails. When Kristy finally asks herself why she’s doing that, she says, “because I have my infant grandson in the car.”
Removing the shoe while her grandson is in the car reminds Kristy of her precious cargo.
It’s a pretty clever trick. Whereas someone might neglect an elastic band on their wrist, there isn’t a person alive who wouldn’t be able to notice that they weren’t wearing two shoes.
“And I’d rather deal with hot pavement, then leave my grandson in the car, so I leave my shoe in the back.”
The purpose of this is to leave something essential in the backseat so parents and caregivers are reminded of the child being in the car.
Some parents and grandparents have applauded Kristy for her inventiveness.
Facebook user Jennifer Cullen wrote “I remember how someone (before being a parent) would say they could never leave their kid and they shouldn’t be parents if they do…left their kid TWICE. Luckily someone was there to remind them.”
While others can’t understand how any parent would ever need to utilize this tactic.
Another Facebook user, Eva-Marie Yee, commented “This can’t be serious ? I have three kids three years apart and there has never been any time that I’ve needed to remind myself they are in the car.”
This negative reaction cause many people to come to Kristy’s defense.
One Facebook user by the name of Jennifer Farrell stressed that people needed to stop publically shaming parenting hacks like Kristy’s.
Just because it doesn’t work for everyone, doesn’t mean that it won’t work for anyone.
