Kat Von D Opens Up About Her 'Struggle' To Lose The Baby Weight Six Months After Giving Birth

It's not very often that celebrities reveal that they are having a hard time losing weight.

It seems that they show up to red carpet events perfectly styled and with perfect bodies. What we don't see is all the hard work that happens behind closed doors.

New mom Kat Von D just took to Instagram to open up about her own weight loss struggle six months after giving birth. Her honesty has been so relatable to a lot of other moms out there.

Kat Von D openly shared updates about her pregnancy when she was expecting her baby boy.

At 38-weeks-pregnant, Kat shared this photo of her baby bump while she was out for a hike. I'm super impressed that she was able to stay so active until the end of her pregnancy!

In November 2018, Kat and her husband, Rafael Reyes, welcomed their baby boy.

The named the little guy Leafar Von Drachenberg Reyes. Is it just me or does he look exactly like Kat?!

Kat continued to post her raw updates about motherhood with fans.

After struggling to breastfeed and using donor milk for the first few days, Kat shared this intimate video of herself while she nursed Lefar outside. Many people praised the beautiful video.

Now, Lefar is six-months-old and it looks like Kat and Rafael have settled into their roles as parents.

It's not an easy job by any means, but things do seem to get a little more routine by the six-month mark.

However, not everything has been so easy for Kat.

In a new Instagram post, Kat opened up about her postpartum body and self-esteem.

"Now, I have never been “skinny” by model standards, nor will I ever strive to be. I adore my womanly curves! But I must admit, before I got pregnant, I did have my dream body," she said.

She went on to say that she's had a hard time getting back to her pre-baby weight.

"But after having my son, I was shocked that regardless of how strict I was with my diet, and how well I took care of myself, I somehow managed to gain so much weight. I weighed 220 lbs to be exact!" she said.

Kat concluded her post by adding that she's been working out and is starting to see results.

She then gave a shout-out to all the other moms out there who are feeling frustrated with their post-baby bodies.

"So to all my fellow mom’s out there, I just want to tell you that I f-g love you, and that we got this," she said.

Since candidly opening up about her struggle, other moms have chimed in with their experience.

Like Kat, other moms said that it took them longer than they expected to get back to their pre-pregnancy weight. It's a different journey for everyone!

Another mom gave Kat this very important reminder.

It takes nine months to grow a baby and during that time a woman's body goes through a lot of changes. The idea that women need to lose the baby weight immediately is completely unrealistic.
