A new poll from Business Insider has shown that Americans aren’t feeling particularly confident in their government during the coronavirus pandemic that’s now hit the country.
In fact, half of them don’t think the government is prepared whatsoever.
Just two weeks ago, the same poll found that 40% of people felt the federal government was ill prepared.

This shrinking confidence can most certainly be attributed to President Trump’s poorly received reaction to American coronavirus cases.
It wasn’t until the country reached more than 2,000 confirmed cases that the POTUS felt inclined to take action after repeatedly insisting his administration has everything under control .
On March 13, Trump officially declared a national emergency in response to the coronavirus, which WHO has now classified as a pandemic.
This declaration freed up $50 billion of federal funding to respond to the virus, and will allow states to request a 75% federal cost-share for coronavirus-related expenses, such as emergency workers, medical tests, medical supplies, and security for medical facilities.
“All Americans have a role to play in defeating this virus,” Trump told reporters. “Our most effective weapon right now is to limit the damage to our people and our country, and slow the spread of the virus itself.”
As of writing, coronavirus cases in America have reached 2,885, with a total of 65 deaths reported.

According to CNN , West Virginia remains the only state to be untouched by COVID-19.
There are about 162,000 reported cases of the virus worldwide. Some 6,000 people have died, while around 76,000 have recovered.
