If there’s one room in the house that doesn’t see a ton of love, it’s the bathroom. Which is kind of silly because you and your guests are definitely going to use it! Whether it’s a cute basket with soaps or a welcoming sign, little touches in your bathroom can make a huge difference.

1. Untangle the cords of your hair tools!
Staying organized is key to feeling like you’ve got your bathroom under control. I know I don’t feel like a room is complete unless everything that’s unsightly is hidden and tidy.
Use a toilet paper roll covered in pretty paper or tape to keep those cords at bay!
I Heart Organizing shared this smart idea, as well as instructions for exactly how to get it done. This would make storing my hair tools so much easier.
2. Get your toothbrushes off the sink counter and into the medicine cabinet.
The Krazy Coupon Lady suggests using adhesive hooks turned on their side to hold your brushes on the door. This way you can close the door and keep them out of the way without taking up shelf space.
3. Use an adhesive magnetic strip on a medicine cabinet to hold all of your metal bathroom tools.
You can also do this with bobby pins or other hair accessories as well. This is one hack I use at home already, thanks to It’s Superwoman !
4. Use a plant stand as a bath-side table.
You can get some super cute plant stands at Ikea or Target, and then turn them into the perfect spot to hold your towels, candles, and other soaps that wouldn’t fit on a shelf.
5. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to the inside of the toilet paper roll.
This way the scent will sneakily release every time someone uses a piece of toilet paper! I love this idea from The Creek Line House .
6. Use PVC pipe to hold your hair tools while they’re still super hot.
You can spray-paint it any color that fits your decor! It kind of seems silly at first, but trust me when I say it works really well.
Look at all the things you can fit in it!
Now you won’t have to worry about your flat iron burning down your home. You could keep this on your counter like Our Hollowed Home , or keep it under the sink!
7. Give your bathroom some style with some funky lights.
You can TOTALLY make these on your own. There’s no reason to spend tons of money on fancy lights when you can make cool ones at home.
I love that Homemade Modern used plastic bottles to create these stunning hanging lamps.
These will definitely give your bathroom a modern style. You might not be able to get people to leave!
8. Add some fresh soaps to your bathroom for everyday use or as a decoration.
You could buy some fun soaps, or you could make some yourself like Auntie Claras does.
She creates really cool textured soaps by creating molds with lace, but you could even get the melt-and-pour stuff from the craft store.

9. Bathroom trash cans can develop interesting smells, so stop them before they start.
A cotton ball with a few drops of your favorite essential oil at the bottom of the garbage will mask any odors and leave your bathroom feeling like the oasis it should be.
10. It’s really annoying to get in the shower only to find the water spraying every which way.
Usually, those crazy sprays are caused by hard water buildup, and that’s easy to solve. Put the shower head in a plastic bag with water and some white vinegar and it’ll quickly dissolve the buildup.
11. Add more space for drying towels by building a rack that works with your door hinge.

The rack is made from simple PVC piping, which can be left white or painted.

12. Do the metal cans from your hair products leave rusty rings? Balloons are the answer.
Just cut off the end of the balloon and stretch the body over the bottom of the can. This will keep the metal rim from getting wet and rusting.
13. Speaking of shaving cream, it can help keep your mirror from fogging up.
Just rub it on and then wipe it off again. It’ll leave a thin film that will prevent fog from building up for a while. If you don’t want to waste a ton of shaving cream, just do a small spot at your eye level.
14. Corral all those hair ties and booby pins with some old jam jars.
If you’ve lived in a house with someone who has long hair, you know that hair stuff gets everywhere. This trick can at least stem the spread a little bit.
15. Use dryer sheets to clean your shower doors.
They’ll get the tough stains out without any weird chemicals. Just make sure you rinse the glass really well to remove any leftover residue.
