Alright, now that you’re in the 2009 mindset, let’s take you back to The Grammys from that year. It’s shocking how much has changed since then!
Get ready for some seriously nostalgic vibes!
The Black Eyed Peas were still together, and still making bangers.
It is still very hard to come to grips with the fact that The Black Eyed Peas are no longer together. Let’s just take a trip down memory lane, shall we?
“Where Is The Love?”, “I Gotta Feeling”, “Don’t Lie”, the list goes on!
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were still together.
I can’t lie, I really liked these two together.
But Mariah Carey is living her best life these days, being the best version of herself, and we’re all happy for her!

“Burnin’ Up” was at the top of our playlists back in the day.
The bros ended up taking some time away from each other and working on some solo projects but thankfully they’re back, and arguably better than ever.

Daughtry was popular as hell for a hot minute. Not sure what happened him after that, or if he’s even still making music. But I definitely appreciated his 15 minutes of fame.
These three were all still BFF’s.
There have been some hiccups along the way, especially between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. (Good news, they’re friends again !).
But there was a time when these three were all good friends, and had no drama going on in their girl-gang.
Coldplay was at peak relevancy.
Before Coldplay went full-on pop mode, they made songs like “The Scientist” and “Viva La Vida”. And while they’re still putting out some bangers, we’ve definitely lived through their glory days.
Kim Kardashian hadn’t hired a stylist yet.
Nowadays, Kim K is a major style icon. But back in 2009, she wore stuff like this and nobody batted an eye.
But then she got rich as hell, married Kanye West, and now she’s setting trends left, right, and center.
Raven Simone was still having visions.
I don’t think Raven really goes to The Grammys anymore, but back then she was still famous enough to make it on the invite list.
Nick Jonas’ sense of style was highly questionable.
I’m not really sure what to make of this outfit. The train conductor hat is the real kicker.

As most of us know, Alicia Keys has been waging war on makeup for the last several years. But back in 2009, she still shamelessly dolled up.
Either way, she looks stunning.
Drake still had a baby face.
In 2009, Drake had just recently released “So Far Gone”, his breakthrough mixtape that launched his career, and made him insanely popular.
He also hadn’t grown out his beard, so he hadn’t quite stolen our hearts just yet.
Katy Perry was still rocking the long black hair and bangs.
Before Katy cut all of her hair off and went platinum blonde, we knew her for having this signature do!

I loved the days when Taylor Swift was still a curly haired country girl, singing about high school romances and break-ups that we all related to on a deep level.

This is a weird one.
In 2009, Brooke Hogan was actually invited to, and was considered to be one of the stars to attend The Grammys.
And she was considered to be a singer.

We were all still listening to “Bleeding Love” on a regular basis.
If you say you didn’t used to listen to “Bleeding Love” on your pink iPod Nano, and cry about your middle-school crush rejecting you, then you’re probably lying. Or maybe I was just a weird, overly-emotional kid.
Either way, this was an absolute jam back in the day.
M.I.A was performing pregnant.
In 2009, every person I knew was singing along to “Paper Planes”. It was a big deal.
M.I.A has fallen off since then, but for a little while she was relevant AF.
Lil Wayne performed with a very pregnant M.I.A. Very weird combo.
What’s even more peculiar than M.I.A being one of the major artists of 2009, is that she performed alongside Lil Wayne.
Jesse McCartney and Paris Hilton were both wildly popular at the time.
It’s also just a bit strange to see these two in a photo together.
