Sometimes, you’ll find something fascinating but have no idea how it got there or how it came to be. Well, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that you’re not always going to get a satisfying explanation.
The good news, though, is that you can appreciate these weird finds from around the world.
Snowsticks.

It might look like a normal accumulation of snow but if you look closely, each snowflake is actually more of a snow…stick.
Bless the rains.

It’s remarkable how much this puddle looks just like Africa, complete with Madagascar in the lower right. There’s something weird going on in the northeast, though.
Why?

This statue exists in Mongolia. No, I don’t know why. The photographer says they have no clue why it exists either.
Nectar of the gods.

Seeing canned Gatorade in the wild is a rare sight indeed. Even weirder, the cans on the left look like they’re at least thirty years old.
Nature imitates nature.

It’s hard to believe that this is something naturally occurring and not, like, a painting or something.
Imposter.

I’d call this a big win: a bag of delicious Sour Patch Kids, complete with one Swedish fish who hopped in without being noticed.
Like a baseball bat.

This looks like a melted baseball bat but it’s actually a hilariously long pumpkin. Just try carving this one at Halloween.
Above it all.

I know that lighthouses like this exist in the world but every time I see one, it just blows my mind.
Bulbous icicles.

This shot shows the underside of a houseboat in the Netherlands. I wonder what causes the ice to form like this.
Detour.

It’s hard to imagine the force of a storm powerful enough to literally detach and re-route an entire section of road.
In the fold.

Someone received this dollar bill in their change. It looks like the previous owner was a big fan of folding.
Secret room.

This is a fun little bonus to find in a house, but it begs one question: why does anyone need such a secretive room?
Calamity corners.

This pic of a crossroads in Australia — with no traffic lights whatsoever — looks like an absolute recipe for disaster.
Twists and turns.

This deck must be made of ultra hydrophobic wood to cause the snow covering to avoid it like this.
Floating free.

It looks like this power line was mostly burnt down. It’s weird that the fire stopped at a point that left the top intact.
A whole new world.

Someone found this full bottle of beer — yes, that’s beer — in the woods. Looks like it’s attracted a whole ecosystem over the years.
When it snows in Texas.

This prickly pear cactus fruit got punctured in a storm but before its juice could hit the ground, it froze into an icicle.
Whale of a find.

This guy randomly found a jawbone from a humpback whale while hiking in New England. I guess humpback whales are pretty big.
Half a cart.

Why would someone cleanly saw a shopping cart in half? I have no idea but at least they left the base intact.
