You see, restauranteurs consider themselves a clever bunch and have decided to stop using the tried, tested, and true plate. They’re going above and beyond the familiar to present their foods in the most peculiar ways.

Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo, I’ll take two orders of chicken stuffed heels. But seriously, what is this mess and who thinks it’s hygienic to eat out of a shoe? I am not here for it.

Remember that time you went to dinner and forgot an umbrella? Well, not to worry, fam! This restaurant has got you covered. Oh, and the food looks alright, too.

We’re huge supporters of eating locally, but trust us when we say, we do not need our food served to us in a gardening hand shovel. NOPE, NOPE, NOPE.
8. This looks like a DIY fail.
You know that someone posted this on Pinterest as a cute way to spruce up outdoor BBQ decor. But why did this restaurant think it was a good idea to add it as condiment tableware?
9. There’s a lot going on here.
First, there’s a scale to prove how much the burger weighs. Then there’s the bowl with fries, and a cutting boarding carrying all those items. I have an idea: just bring me my burger!
10. Oh, this? It’s Life Of Pi.
If there is one thing I wish for more of in the future, it’s more pies hidden in books. So you know, I can’t hate on this too much. Local libraries, you listening?

Look, we get it. Chefs like to deconstruct their dishes. But this is fruit. There is nothing to deconstruct here. Waiter, we want a fruit bowl — immediately!

Tacos are a joy, so it brings me great sadness to see this. I get it, you want us to stay clean while eating, but isn’t the whole point of eating tacos to get messy? Pfft.

OK, we thought we had seen everything but clearly, this takes the cake. Canapés being served out of sneakers? Let’s not and say we did.
15. The Q-tip skewer is an appetizing touch.
This fruit bowl is truly something special. Paired with a Babybel and a syringe full of chocolate, the pièce de résistance is actually the kidney bowl (which is traditionally used to catch vomit).
16. We found Nemo!
I’m fairly certain that the last thing anyone wants to envision (while eating seafood) is a goldfish floating around at the bottom of their dish. If you’re looking for Nemo, he’s in the shrimp cocktail!
