There is absolutely such a thing as blowing a minor issue out of proportion. People have been making mountains out of mole hills for generations. Let’s not pretend that overreaction doesn’t get the best of all of us from time to time.
But even small, hard to find problems are still problems. Loose screws need to be tightened, or over time, they can wiggle out and create larger issues. The problems below might have escaped someone’s notice, but not everyone’s, and really, they should be fixed.
If something doesn’t taste quite right, there’s a reason why.
There’s some color coding that’s baked into everyday life, like red meaning stop and green meaning go.
You could also count salt and pepper as being decidedly color coded as well, and this pair of shakers seems designed for some disappointing flavor misunderstandings.
Sneaky.
If anybody out there wonders why their lip balm runs out so fast, you can thank this person for their detective work, pulling the insides out to show off the disparity between what you think is there and what’s actually there.

What do these labels even mean? Does this remote have two ON buttons and two OFF buttons, for real?
I guess just start hitting buttons and make your own labels because I don’t know how else you use this.
This is how fights start.
Even if this is a difference between metric and imperial measurements, the tapes are so closely designed that at a glance, you wouldn’t know which is which.
And if it’s not a metric vs. imperial thing, well, this job site needs a new batch of tapes.
Huh.
It’s almost like the jug was designed specifically to pour, with a spout and everything.
And sure, some folks will want to use the side when making cappuccinos, but when I was a barista, we spooned that foam out.
That’s not how these are supposed to work.
No, that’s not a chunk of finished jigsaw puzzle — well, okay, technically it is, but this is how it arrived.
You have to punch out the individual pieces and then put it all back together. Kinda takes the fun out of doing a puzzle, don’t you think?
The math here is way harder than it needs to be.
Four dots between each number would have been perfect, an easily discernible two minutes per dot.
Six dots is just madness. I’d just have to crank the dial and keep an eye on things to make sure my toast doesn’t catch fire.

Make note, it’s a mere four feet tall — which means the kid in the graphic must be, what, 2’4″ at most?

But choosing to slap a few double balconies together right in the middle of the building has put it all off-center, off-kilter, and the more I look at it, the more dizzy I feel.

Really, there’s one thing you ask of a watch band: to be able to fasten around your wrist.
You’ll note a distinct disconnection in this watch band’s clasp and its holes, however. It’s not going on anybody’s wrist for very long.

I’d much rather have that off-center label than this unreadable one. Seriously, who puts white ink on a pale yellow background? It may as well not even have a label.
And that’s all you get.
No amounts, and no labels for the ingredients for this image from a recipe, either. There are a few white powders used in baking, each of which has wildly different effects on the end product.
You really don’t want to mistake baking powder for icing sugar, for example, but at this vantage point, there’s no way to know which is which.
That’s one way to do it.
Admittedly, at first glance, I might not have known what exactly was wrong with the button to advance ten seconds had it not been so clearly pointed out.
But once you see that it’s just the reverse ten seconds symbol flipped, you can’t unsee it.
Every dang time.
When this starts to happen, you basically have two choices: replace all your shorts and pants that have pockets that stick out, or replace all the handles that stick out enough to catch your clothing on.
I can tell you that this phenomenon cured me of cargo shorts.
Whoops.
Eagles are supposed to soar, not fracture. But the decal on the back of this USPS truck is off just enough that the poor eagle is falling apart.
Has something changed?
I mean, Canada and the U.S. are very close, both in terms of geography and in their geopolitical relationship.
But I don’t think we’re going to see the maple leaf flying over the lower 48 anytime soon, no matter what this image suggests.
So wrong.
Maybe there’s some kind of issue behind the ceiling that we’re not seeing, but you’d have to think there would be some kind of work around that would allow this light fixture to be installed in the middle of the trim it was meant for.
