Sure, those hilarious lifehacks that help with random things in your life are great, but personally, I love a good hack to help get my house in tip-top shape. If I can make a little bit of extra space, turn something bleh to bougie for a few bucks, or find some sweet storage, I’m definitely game!
They’re especially helpful when you live in a small apartment like I do and have minimal space to do cool things. Here are some great hacks to help you in your home!
1. Create your own fire-starters out of toilet paper rolls and dryer lint.
You know you’re supposed to clean out your dryer tray to avoid fires, right?! Well, put that stuff to good use by making fire-starters with toilet paper rolls and wax paper!
2. If you’re in need of some cheap home decor, some gold spray paint and branches from outside go a long way.
It seems kind of silly, but they actually look like some expensive piece of decor from Anthropologie.
4. Take your Ikea furniture to the next level and add some marble contact paper and gold spray paint.
There is almost nothing gold paint and contact paper can’t fix or upgrade!
5. Did you know you can get free samples of tiles at most home improvement stores?
Those tiles actually make fantastic coasters that you can use in your home, and they come in all sorts of shapes and colors.
6. Worried about the extension cords out in your garden?
Tupperware to the rescue! This hack is super simple, and I really don’t know how we didn’t think of this one before!
7. If you don’t have any bedside tables, you can use books between your mattresses to hold glasses.

This is also a useful hack for books you don’t have a use for anymore…it’s actually kind of genius!
8. Create fun painted patterns on your walls instead of buying wallpaper.
This pattern was created using a cutout of a laundry basket! How cute are the dots on the walls?!
9. Distress your furniture using vaseline.
The farmhouse chic look is definitely popular, and it has been for a while. It’s a timeless look that’s super easy to achieve with a bit of distressing on your wooden furniture!
10. Did you lose your contact lens container again?!
In a pinch, these takeout sauce containers are perfect! You can even write “R” and “L” on them to tell each lens apart. I’m definitely never throwing these out!
11. Apparently, a cheap triangle makeup sponge can be used to patch holes in your drywall.
Looks like such an easy and cheap fix! This actually makes a drywall repair look pretty darn easy!
12. This Twitter user broke their milk container and needed somewhere to store her freshly purchased milk.
Luckily for her, she had two massive bottles of Hennessy in her recycling that she could use instead.
13. Gallery walls take your home to the next level, but are hard to get perfectly right.
Before you make any commitments by putting holes in the wall, lay out where you want everything to go using pieces of paper first .
14. I’ve never caulked a bathtub, but keeping that stuff straight has got to be a pain.
Painter’s tape is definitely your best friend here. It’ll makes the process a breeze.
15. Wouldn’t eating breakfast be more fun if our smoothies tasted just like ice cream?!
Apparently, adding frozen cauliflower does the trick! This just made my morning 100% better! I’m definitely trying this out tomorrow!
