Dame Judi Dench Becomes The Oldest 'Vogue' Cover Girl At 85

There are some celebrities who are so iconic and legendary that you don't really think about them as being, you know, humans that age and get older. To me, Dame Judi Dench is definitely one of them.

Judi just made history as the oldest *Vogue* cover girl in the world.

"I can't tell you how pleased I am to see Dame Judi Dench, the unassailable queen of stage and screen, starring on her first Vogue cover at the age of 85," wrote Edward Enninful, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, on Instagram.

He added that this made her "the oldest cover star in the history of the magazine."

The title was previously held by Lauren Hutton who, in 2017, took the title at the age of 73 — even though she no longer holds the record, that's definitely no small feat!

Of course, it's Judi Dench, so the interview was just as iconic as the cover itself.

While the photos were taken in March before a lockdown was introduced in the UK, Judi touches on the current situation in the interview, saying, "I am sure I feel like everyone else, such unprecedented times are quite hard to comprehend."

"What is a good thing is that it has made people aware of the predicament of others who are completely alone," Judi said.

"If a great deal of kindness comes out of this, then that will be a plus."

What an excellent message! Congratulations on your Vogue cover, Judi!
