Bored at home? I have great news: there are a ton of fun projects you can do to help change up your surroundings! Whether it’s getting wild with some paint or redoing your floors with affordable materials, there’s a project in here just waiting to be done.
Let’s get into it!
Change up your curtains.

Not only do curtains make a huge impact in a room, they’re really inexpensive to swap out! Changing your curtains (or even adding some) is a no-brainer, and a really cost effective way to pull a room together.
Update your backsplash with peel and stick tiles.

Ugly backsplash tiles happen to the best of us. Cover up those tragic choices with some peel and stick tiles to instantly bring your kitchen into the 21st century! I’d go for marble, personally.
Swap out old hardware.

Doorknobs, cabinet pulls, and other various knobs are cheap, easy ways to upgrade your house. Swap your old stuff out for ones that have more style and personality to instantly change the way a room or door looks.
Pick up some affordable wall art.

Art doesn’t have to be expensive! Sites like Society6 , RedBubble , and Desenio over reasonably priced art prints that you can frame and hang yourself. Sign up for their newsletters to get access to exclusive discounts to bring the prices down even more!
Bust the paint out.
It’s time to paint some furniture. Instead of replacing your old stuff with something new, upcycle it into a piece you’re proud to have! This is a good opportunity to get really creative, tbh.
No one said furniture had to just be black and white.
Pick up some vinyl tiles to upgrade your floors.

Peel and stick tiles are a tried and true way to cover up ugly floors. This is especially helpful for renters who have no choice when it comes to bad landlord taste, let’s be real.
Fake yourself some new counters.

If you can’t afford to replace your counters, the next best thing is definitely a counter kit! There’s tons of options out there for refinishing your existing counters, including one that you quite literally paint on.
Change up your lights.

Contrary to popular belief, lighting fixtures do not have to be expensive to be chic as heck. Places like Amazon and Target sell amazing, accessibly priced flush mount lights and lamps!
This flush mount chandelier is $50 at Amazon .
Change out your light switch covers.

Light switch covers are painfully boring. But they don’t have to be!
Use a bleach pen to clean your grout.

I once went into a kitchen cleaning frenzy and cleaned spilled red wine stains from my grout with a Tide bleach pen, and let me tell you: that stuff worked .
You can also pick up a specific grout pen to do that job!
Here’s one promising Amazon review: “Does the trick for sure… I did a full shower with one pen and may still have more to touch up.”
Give your wood a facelift.

Furniture and floors sure can get dull after a while. Give them a refresh with some wood polish! They’ll regain that beautiful shine, and you’ll feel like you’re skating with your socks on. Win-win.
Add some decorative trim to any room.

Installing crown molding or decorative trim does not have to break the bank. Simply pick up some inexpensive wood trim and paint the area underneath it white! Bam, instant crown molding.
Removable wallpaper will instantly add personality to any room.

Get a high-end look for a low price when you go for removable wallpaper! It’s a great way to add dimension and texture to an otherwise blank wall. When you’re tired of it, just peel it back off again!
When in doubt, paint it out.

Feeling restless? Not sure what you want to do to change things up? Try out a test run on your front door! Painting it will totally change how people see your house, and it’ll help inspire you to tackle the rest of your house!
