The fun of trick-or-treating is going door-to-door and seeing what you can get from all the kindhearted adults willing to give away free candy. But some people seriously ruin it by taking it all for themselves.
And it's especially worse when an adult is the one stealing candy that's supposed to be shared in the community. It's even more shameful when they get caught on camera.
In a TikTok uploaded by a user who goes by @michaustarudzont, the mom and her son, who is dressed up as Spider-Man, are at the porch, dumping candy into his bucket.
He says, "Please leave some for the other kids." The mom then completely throws her son under the bus, saying, "He was looking for peanut butter M&M's, that's it."
"Yeah I know, you took the whole bin though, I saw you on camera," the homeowner continued, before the woman finally started putting some of the candy back in the bin.
The TikTok was uploaded the day after Halloween, and has since been viewed over 12 million times, with over 800,000 likes as well as thousands of comments. Many people expressed confusion as to what was happening in the video.
One user asked, "Wait, is there part of the video that's missing? I only saw her take 3." But many other users also theorized that she probably took more before the recording started.
One user commented, "No way I just saw a different ring video of her doing the same thing to another house."
Another said, "She finally got caught she did this on another house."
In a separate TikTok, the mom can be seen practically shoveling all the candy from a porch into the bucket her son had brought with him, before the two walked off the property.
A commenter exclaimed, "I thought this was just a different angle but it's an actual different house!!!!!"
Another said, "Omg this is like the 5th video I have seen from other houses of her doing the same thing."
A third TikTok shows the woman with her son at yet another house, this time taking a couple of handfuls of candy. She then appears as if she's about to turn and walk away, before going back to grab several handfuls more.
"I’m sorry but how are people still not noticing ring camera’s right in front of them while they do this stuff," a commenter pointed out.
It's just baffling that she would choose to take so much candy, right in front of her son like that.
