Don't get me wrong — I'm no Grinch, and I'm no Scrooge. I love Christmas! I can't get enough of the holidays once the holidays roll around, but that's the key part: once they roll around. If you don't let the holiday time be special in its brevity, you're not letting the holiday time be special at all.

There are quite a few people who agree with me, and most of them were not pleased when they spotted a particular commercial on their television sets already.

People were shocked to see this commercial airing once October rolled around.

Yes, before Thanksgiving, before Remembrance Day, even before Halloween, British online retailer Very had paid to play a Christmas commercial on television, where couples discussed how Christmas was more than just one day over the iconic song "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day."

A lot of viewers were not happy.

"Christmas ads in the first week of October. Be very ashamed of yourselves," tweeted one person.

"wtf are you doing… dont take pride being the first Christmas Ad, its 7th October… its too early. Its embarrassing," tweeted another.

Even Christmas lovers were a little taken aback.

"I'm all for Christmas ads, but even I thought that was a bit early, Very," tweeted one user.
