We all know what it feels like to get burned . Sometimes it’s a case of “caveat emptor,” and other times it seems as if the universe just has it out for you.
Below is a list of 15 people who spent their hard-earned money on something expensive , only to have fate not go their way. Rest assured that if this sounds like you, at least you’re not alone .
The magnets in an MRI machine are no joke.

The average cost for an MRI machine falls anywhere between 1-3 million dollars . And as it turns out, those magnets inside are not anything that you want to mess around with.
Something here just does not look right.

Apparently, this Reddit user’s neighbors spent an ungodly amount of money for a granite post engraved with their address. Unfortunately, the engravers decided to use an “O” in the place of a “0”
I wonder if they realized before it was too late?

Imagine this: you’ve just left the Rogers store with a brand new iPhone. You plug it into your car to charge and drive away. Then, all of a sudden, you hear a sickening grinding noise from just outside your window…
The look you make when you realize that you’ve forgotten to take your brand new $5000 mountain bike off the rack.

This is horrible, but I have to believe that it might have been avoidable. The driver was either determined as hell that nothing was wrong or was coming into the garage at an incredibly high rate of speed.
“Recently tried an expensive rental clothing subscription. UPS threw the package of clothes/bags into my backyard. I have two puppies.” – Reddit u/Mckinzel

This is why dog owners can’t have nice things. Why UPS would’ve thrown the package into the backyard, rather than leave it on the front porch is beyond me.
This is why I have tiny adhesive ducks on the floor of my shower.

I have to presume that the Redditor escaped without injury, based on the fact that they took the picture. But that must’ve been one mighty fall.
“Was in a middle seat and paid extra $ to upgrade to a “window” seat.” – Reddit u/baconismadefromcats

I’d be writing a very strongly-worded letter to the airline if they tried to bamboozle me like this. A window seat, by definition, means a seat with a window — not the seat closest to the fuselage.
I would’ve just asked for my money back.

What is this — a pizza for ants?! That thing is so small that it wouldn’t even be able to qualify as a bagel bite. Whoever sold this to you is a certified scam artist.
I always wanted a white interior.

Oh. My. God. I hope you enjoy the look of white paint on the floor of your mini-van because there isn’t a hope in hell that you’re going to be able to get that to come out.
I really don’t think you should be standing around taking pictures.

” Had a leak develop in our laboratory this morning . Nobody was on campus to catch it so there was 4 inches of standing water and countless ruined pieces of equipment.” – Reddit u/anothergrad_student
I bet you didn’t know that washing machines could spontaneously combust.

Can you imagine if your brand new washer was on its inaugural cycle and then this happened? I’d be furious but I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t curious as to how it happened.
Hidden garages might sound like a good idea, but they take a while to get used to.

Before you even think about installing a hidden garage, you really need to iron out the logistics. Otherwise, you’ll be out tens of thousands of dollars and be forced to ride the bus to work.
I’m going to need a snorkel and some flippers.

Apparently, this Redditor bought themselves a brand new BBQ the day before a tornado hit their town. On the plus side, no one was hurt — but they haven’t a clue as to how to get the Broil King out of the deep end.
This Redditor paid almost $20 for eight of these tiny chicken wings.

What kind of establishment would have the gall to charge $20 for less than 1 lbs of wings ?! Were they coated in gold flakes or something? It just doesn’t make sense.
“Paid $31 in shipping costs to ship a discontinued crystal picture frame.” – Reddit u/affable_discourse

If the shipping alone was $31.00, I can’t begin to fathom how much the item actually cost. Did the delivery driver drop it down a set of stairs or something?
