I'll admit I'm not one to fall for all the beauty trends out there. I'm very selective when it comes to my skincare. So when I see all sorts of beauty hacks, I take them with a grain of salt.

However, that can't be said about everyone. In fact, there are some TikTokers out there who are willing to try the craziest of hacks. I'm going to share with you the latest one.

So what is it, you ask?

Well, apparently women on TikTok are giving themselves faux freckles using the oddest method I've ever seen before. Do you want to know what it is? They're using root concealer hair dye. OMG, what?

Oh, yeah, that's right.

How does one even do that? They quickly spritz their faces to reveal what are supposed to be cute freckles on their nose and cheeks. But as with all beauty hacks, it may not be as easy as it sounds, ha, ha.

Here's how the whole 'trend' started.

A makeup artist Sydney Purl, went viral using this dupe online. She promised that it was going to look very realistic. Hmm! Somehow I have a hard time believing that. That didn't stop other people from trying it out, though.

So these amateur beauty TikTokers tried to re-create this look.

And as you might have guessed, they failed miserably. But the good thing is that now we can see all their gaffes on TikTok, starting with this one here. I mean, what do you think? Ha, ha!

This lady followed all the directions.

For example, you're not supposed to shake the root touch-up bottle first. You just press it kind of halfway down and not at full blast. And don't put it too far away from your face. So, she did it, but sadly it didn't work out so well for her, lol.

Here's what she did wrong.

First of all, she picked a shade of the root concealer that was way too dark for her skin. Don't match it to your hair, people. Try matching it to your skin tone instead. In her own words, she said she looked like a "Dalmatian", hee-hee. Indeed.

Another thing she did wrong is this:

Before you spray your face with this hair product, try it out on your hand first. This woman skipped this important step, and that's why she ended up with a terrible result. I don't know about you, but I think that's pretty elementary, no?

There were some success stories, though.

This woman here got the best result. It's hard to see on camera, but she ended up with very subtle and pretty freckles on her face. So if you do this right, it can have the desired effect, ladies. My only advice is to try it out on your hand or even practice it on paper.

So what do you think about this faux freckles beauty trend?

Would you try it at home? Honestly, this isn't my thing. I don't really care if I have freckles or not. But if you're willing to try it out, I sincerely wish you luck. Come back here and let us know if you succeeded. I'd love to see your before-and-after pictures.
