These days, Hollywood seems to make movie sequels more than originals, and many of these sequels, trilogies, and franchises are iconic.
However, there are some sequels that fans haven’t heard of at all.

The original Grease from 1978 is one of the most legendary movie musicals ever, but the sequel, Grease 2 , was not.

The original film was made in 1973, and the sequel Exorcist II: The Heretic was released in 1997.
This film was generally considered to be horrible and had bad ratings all around. It was definitely a sequel that didn’t need to be made.

You’ve probably heard of or watched Home Alone 2 , but there were actually two more sequels made that were way less popular.
The third and fourth installments had a different lead actor instead of Macaulay Culkin, making them a flop.

The sequel film was titled The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea and released in 2000.
The plot followed Ariel and Eric’s daughter Melody as she sought to become a mermaid, and it was overall a pale copy of the original.
