These are the costume mishaps that were… well, they were glaring. And I’m sorry to say, that someone was probably fired because of them.

‘Legends Of The Fall’: Brad Pitt’s Look
In Legends Of The Fall , Brad Pitt looked beautiful. There’s no doubt about it. But his look was not one that would have been acceptable in the 1910s.
5 o’clock stubble? Unacceptable.
‘The King’s Speech’: The Kilt
We’ve discussed the historical accuracy of The King’s Speech before, but the most glaring of problems was the kilt he wore.
He wore the Irish style when he should have been wearing the Scottish Balmoral model.
‘Glory’: The Digital Watch
Now this one is just a straight-up mishap.
During one scene in the American Civil War movie, you can see one of the extras is wearing a digital watch!
Those were obviously not around at that time.
‘Public Enemies’: The Robe
The robe Johnny Depp was wearing in this movie was too light, too sleek, and didn’t fit the time period.
This may not be the last time we see a Johnny Depp movie on this list…
‘Almost Famous’: A Black Sabbath T-Shirt
It was a cool movie with a lot of cool people in it.
However, what wasn’t so cool was the fact that they wore a Black Sabbath T-shirt that wasn’t made until 1997.
‘Pearl Harbor’: Bare Legs
This could be chalked up to the fact that maybe the ladies who did this were rebellious, but bare legs back in that time was a huge no-no.
So maybe it was just laziness.
‘Braveheart’: The Kilt
Another kilt mishap on this list! Jeez, can anyone get kilts right?
While they may be a staple of Scottish culture now, kilts didn’t start showing up until the 16th century.
This movie was set in the 13th.
‘Django Unchained’: Sunglasses
Yes, it was cool to see Jamie Foxx wearing those sweet sunglasses. Yes they, undoubtedly, made his character look badass.
Unfortunately, the sunglasses were not invented yet. So unless he invented them…
‘Pirates of the Caribbean’: The Red Coats
These red coats were meant to represent the British empire, and we often think of them when we think of British soldiers.
But they didn’t come around until 1747, whereas this movie is set in the 1720s.
‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’: German Medals
While the medals on the Nazi’s uniforms sure did look fancy (am I going to hell for saying that?) those kinds of medals were not worn until the end of the war in 1945.
This movie was set in 1938.
‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ Carter’s Hair
While it certainly is a pretty look, no doubt, it wouldn’t have flown in World War 2.
Especially for a woman in the army! She was supposed to have her hair up.
‘Captain America: The First Avenger’: Headset
Another mistake in Captain America: The First Avenger movie was that one of the soldiers was wearing a pretty advanced headset for World War 2.
