Over the decades, no studio has had greater success than Disney.
Their brand has become synonymous with success and they continue to outdo themselves year after year (and we love to see it).
To celebrate the wonderful world of Disney, here are 10+ of their most underrated movies. These films were far too quickly forgotten and are well-deserving of a second-watch.
*20,000 Leagues Under The Sea*.
The film does an incredible job of staying true to the classic novel written by Jules Verne .
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea is a grand tale of adventure and mystery that still holds up even under today’s scrutiny.
*The Sword In The Stone*.
One of the oldest and most regaled myths of all-time is brought to life in this Disney animated classic.
The Sword in the Stone is funny, thought-provoking, and deals with some incredibly adult concepts for a kid’s movie.
*Bedknobs And Broomsticks*.
Bedknobs and Broomsticks incorporates a combination of live-action/animation with incredible tact and precision.
The story follows a would-be witch who becomes the caretaker for three young children. They, along with a failed magician, must search for a spell to help Britain win WWII.
*Robin Hood*.
Once again, another classic legend brought to life by the magic of Disney.
For my money, this is the best depiction of Robin Hood there’s ever been: better than Costner and yes, even better than Cary Elwes in Robin Hood: Men in Tights .
*Pete’s Dragon*.
Just forget that the god-awful remake even exists.
Pete’s Dragon should have never been remade, especially when the original is about as close to perfect as you can get. When Mickey Rooney sings ‘ I Saw A Dragon ‘, you’ll feel like a kid again.
*The Black Cauldron*.
The closest that Disney ever came to releasing a horror movie was The Black Cauldron .
Not only is this an incredibly dark tale of fantasy, it was also the first film ever released by Disney to receive a PG-13 rating .
*Iron Will*.
Iron Will has a little bit of everything. It’s a grueling tale of perseverance, survival, and determination.
With incredible performances by Mackenzie Astin and Kevin Spacey, Iron Will will make you believe in the power of the underdog.
*Angels In The Outfield*.
Angels in the Outfield has one of the most heartwarming moments in any sports movie. Period.
If you aren’t up out of your seats, giving the ‘Angel-signal’ for Mel Clark to throw one final strike, then you, my friend, are a robot.
*Heavyweights*.
Heavyweights is flat out hilarious.
Not only is the film filled to the brim with some of the greatest comedians of all time (including Jerry Stiller and a young Kenan Thompson), but it depicts the coolest, most spectacularly amazing summer-camp experience you could ever ask for.
*A Goofy Movie*.
‘Hakuna Matata’ and ‘Let It Go’ might get all the glory, but true fans know that the greatest Disney song of all time: is ‘Stand Out’ by Power Line.

James and the Giant Peach is not a perfect film by any means. I can almost promise that you’ll want to rip-off your ears listening to ‘ My Name Is James ‘.
However, aside from that admittedly tiny blip, the film is a glowing achievment in the medium of stop-motion animation.
*The Great Mouse Detective*.
“The game is afoot!”
Basil of Baker Street is Disney’s version of Sherlock Holmes. This is yet another example of Disney going down the dark lefthand path. The Great Mouse Detective is riddled with suspense, mayhem, and even murder!
