When it comes to raising children, many moms and dads agree that things should be equally split and shared when it comes to responsibilities.
However, when it comes down to it, many moms feel that they are usually taking on the vast majority of the responsibilities in raising children. Some moms feel that because they are constantly the ones doing the run-around, they do much more than the dads.
But, when it comes down to it, who spends their time doing more for the kids—moms or dads?
It’s almost impossible to find out who does more and who spends more time doing things when both parents feel they are the ones who are “doing the most.”
Recently, however, a survey published determined that dads are the ones who take more “me” time away from their family and kids over moms.
According to a new survey conducted by Zulily, it turns out that dads actually take more time throughout their week for themselves than moms do.
That means that while dads are “on their own,” moms are stepping up to do the parenting.
The data shows that moms really only take 1-5 hours of time for “themselves” during the week.
68% of moms surveyed say they take only 1-5 hours of “me time” each week. However, 37% of dads say that they take 6-10 hours for themselves each week.
That’s a pretty big difference!
Moms believe that they are clearly pulling the weight in the parenting department in their family.
88% of moms surveyed also reported that they feel as though their role in the family is the “giver.”
Additionally, the vast majority—70%—of moms say that they don’t get enough credit for all of the work they put into planning and prepping for holidays.
It seems that moms and dads also have differences in opinions on things.
According to the survey data, 87% of moms say they do the household shopping.
However, 46% of dads say that they do. Clearly, there’s some mix up in how these parents view their responsibilities.
Society also seems to put the pressure on moms more than they do for dads.
From Instagram moms to Facebook friends, it seems as though moms feel much more pressure to be “the perfect mom” than dads to do be the “perfect dad.”

Maybe it’s because moms use social media more.
A vast majority of women feel the pressure to always be the best mom they can possibly be.
90% of the women who were surveyed in this study say they feel the pressure to be “super mom.”
However, dads don’t seem to feel that same amount of pressure.
Only 56% of dads surveyed reported feeling the pressure to be “super dad.”
And, the way that moms and dads see themselves differ immensely.
According to the survey, 56% of dads feel they are “super dad.” But, only 42% of moms feel they are “super mom.”
Whether you feel like you do more than your significant other, these numbers don’t lie.
It seems that while moms are out here breaking their backs, they don’t really feel like they are doing a great job. And, while dads sit back and relax, they feel they’re excelling at all costs. Seems a bit off, no?
