Sure, for some this renewed new interest in the series. Some people love to watch characters die.
But for others, having their favorite character killed was too much to handle.
When Derek Died On ‘Grey’s Anatomy’
The show has just kind of been going downhill since Derek died. Without the Meredith/Derek dynamic (The Merek Dynamic?) the show has become a lot less interesting.
Not uninteresting enough to stop watching completely, but it did take a hit.

Yeah, there were really two scenes in Grey’s Anatomy that made people stop watching. One is the aforementioned Derek Death, the other is this ridiculous scene.
So… she has sex with a ghost? Is this all in her mind? What’s going on?

God this show is a mess, especially its last season.
There we were, pretty much following their marriage for an entire season, and then suddenly they decide they don’t want to be together?
When Stabler Left ‘Law And Order: SVU’
A lot of fans cite this as the moment the show went downhill. Did you know it was because they wouldn’t give Christopher Meloni the money he wanted?
Greedy so and sos.
The Red Wedding
Did this shock a lot of viewers? Absolutely. Did this make a whole bunch of Stark fans leave the show? Also yes.
The whole family was practically gone at this point.

This is frequently cited as the episode that killed The Simpsons (despite the fact that it been on for like 20 seasons since).
It turns out that the principal we knew and loved was actually an identity thief.

Yes, I know she was going through a lot.
But it’s hard to sympathize with Fiona after she was so careless. Most fans had a hard time watching after this incident.

The moment that Charlie was trapped underwater on Lost was definitely a low point for the series.
Not only was it upsetting to watch him die, but it wasn’t even Penny’s boat!
The Moment They Put Elena Into A Coma
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t The Vampire Diaries about Elena’s experience in Mystic Falls? How did they think the show was going to work if she was gone?

Michael’s Death
There sure are a lot of deaths on this list, but this one from Jane The Virigin is one of the worst.
Some fans have a feeling that they did it just so Jane and Rafael could get back together.
When Kara and Mon-El Got Together
Listen, Supergirl is supposed to be about a super-strong (both literally and on the inside) woman who don’t need no man to help her (snap, snap, snap, snap).
The moment they put these two together was the moment we stopped watching.

Alright, so this guy from This Is Us manages to get through a burning house twice. Once to save some kids, another to save a dog.
And then out of nowhere he just has a heart attack and dies? What a rip!

Every character got a happy ending, which was a perfect ending to the series…but then they went on and did the 7th season.
Uh…what the heck was the point of that?
Olivia Being Kidnapped In ‘Scandal’
Not only that she was kidnapped, but the fact that Fitz went to war to get her back.
The President would never do that. What happened to “we do not negotiate with terrorists?”
When Jim and Pam Got Together In ‘The Office’
There was so much tension and suspense leading up to them getting together, and once they did a lot of fans thought the show got boring.
So there are two moments when people stopped watching The Office .

This, ladies and gentlemen, is one of the only instances you’ll see on this list where people stopped watching a show not because the writing was lame, but because the showrunners stopped caring.
If they don’t care, why should we?

Yeah, this supernatural moment from Supernatural was — how do I put this? —pretty flipping ridiculous.
It turned a whole lot of people off of the show, and who could blame them?
When Luke’s Daughter Came Onto The Show
Another Gilmore Girls moment that made us stop watching. They only did it to add to the drama, which honestly seems pretty darn cheap.
It was also an excuse for Luke and Lorelai to break up, which is even cheaper.

Ah yes, back to one of the most ridiculous shows on TV.
Archie’s “super tough, no really guys” act is one of the more ridiculous parts of the show, and it made us stop watching.

Ugh, even typing those words leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Wha… What were they thinking?
How offensive is that “twist”? Way to make your fans hate you, Pretty Little Liars writers.

I know we’ve picked on Grey’s a whole lot, but when you have this many seasons you’re going to have a lot of bad moments.
