Sometimes all it takes to stop bad situations from happening is to think them through and nip them in the bud before they get ahead of themselves. Unfortunately, not many of us can think beyond the moment and will just do what feels right, regardless of the consequences.

1. I’m gonna square with all y’all, I fell for this exactly like Shane did in the comments.
I put a lot of sympathy into that bird before I realized it was knitted, so now I’ve got all these leftover emotions and I have no idea what to do with them.
2. I mean, I’d complain and send it back, except this still looks way better than anything I’d make myself, so I’ll still eat it.
Realistically, whenever I make food and it falls short of my standards, I just slap three slices of processed cheese on top of it and call it a day.

6. Maybe a strap or something would be a good idea for the next time you go rock climbing.
I mean, I don’t think anybody really thinks through rock climbing before they do it. Then again, I assume everybody does it freehand like Tom Cruise in the opening scene of Mission: Impossible II .
7. Apparently someone offered this person a free “washer and dryer,” but they ended up with this.
They say you shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth, but you should probably at least check to make sure it’s actually a horse.
8. It’s always a risk to open yourself up for being insulted.
On the plus side, if she was game for it, it’s possible this was the beginning of a beautiful relationship the likes of which the world has never seen before.
9. I don’t know if you’ve ever done this, but I have, and boy, is it embarrassing.
I think my worst one was the time that I wrote up a report about a coworker and then, instead of sending it to my boss, sent it to the coworker. That was a tough one. He just replied “Neat.”
10. Loss prevention isn’t always the most intuitive thing. Sometimes you really have to drill it onto people’s heads.
See what I did there with the being hilarious? But seriously, don’t steal things. It’s rude.
11. Man, those Shutterstock people have their fingers in everything, don’t they?
In Pakistan, they’re actually primarily known as a garment manufacturer. That’s why they’ve got their brand name on absolutely everything.
12. And this is why it’s a good idea to know the history of a place before you buy it.
On the other hand, you could probably make some decent snitch money by taking that sign down and just going with it.
13. When your mom makes you hand out resumes, but you really couldn’t care less about actually getting a job.
Because technically doing something is almost always better than actually doing it well.

Forgetting the lid and everything else that came after was just the aftershock of that first bad decision. No, sir, it’s all Girl Guide cookies and soda for me. That may sound like a joke, but that’s literally what’s on my desk right now.

And I mean that literally. Because’s there’s a wall right in front of your face and laundry baskets aren’t exactly known for their steering.

Then you’re just realizing you’ve committed yourself to a lifetime of debt over a piece of paper that makes you qualified to feel smug toward everyone else.
20. I like this Josh kid. His whole “I can make absolutely everything about me” attitude really speaks to me as a person.
Frankly, this kid is going places. Probably to his room without supper, but that’s still places.
21. Who needs a tow when you can just…*squints really hard*…strap the crumbling remnants of your tire back to the wheel with some heavy-duty zip ties?
Granted, I know less about cars than I do about cooking, so maybe this is actually the best practice. I sure doubt it, though.
22. Turn down for…that.
This could also be footage from my wedding after we played “Cotton Eye Joe” for the 16th time. Because in our family, we don’t know much, but we sure know how to party.
23. In his defense, if you walk into a place with a wall full of holes, are you supposed to just ignore that fact?
And hey, it’s just a pinkie. You can get by fine without one of those if worse comes to worse.
24. Sometimes the best way to find happiness in life is to just manage your expectations.
When people say find a girl who can do both, you get to decide what the “both” means.
