I don’t know about you, but I have recently realized that TikTok is a great place for lifehacks. There are so many awesome ideas there I can’t even begin to tell you.
However, I can share the latest one I discovered with you right now. It’s a super easy DIY home deodorizer you are going to want to make ASAP!
Let me tell you, I absolutely can’t stand bad odors.

I’m always looking for better ways to get my home to smell nicer. And if I can find a healthy solution that’s even better. That’s why I was thrilled when I stumbled upon this idea.
Chantel Mila, who goes by the handle @mama_mila_ on TikTok, shared this super simple home remedy.

She came up with a great solution to help all our homes smell a lot better. And the best news is — you only need three ingredients to make this.
Wow, doesn’t that sound fabulous or what?

Okay, here it is, folks. Basically, you’ve got to use a mason jar. If you already have one, that’s awesome. If not, you can buy one at a dollar store or some other craft store.
Then what you do is pour one cup of uncooked rice inside the mason jar.

After that, you can add ten drops of your favorite essential oil. Then just close the mason jar and shake everything up. Doing so will distribute the oil throughout the rice.
It would be helpful if you also had a mason jar lid that has some holes.

You want the scent to distribute wherever you need it. Those lids should be available at a dollar store or the craft store.
Or, you can just poke some holes yourself.

Now leave this mason jar anywhere in need of some refreshing. For example, you can keep it in your kitchen or the bathroom. Some people even suggested putting it in the closet.
So how does this DIY deodorizer work?

You see, rice is a natural deodorizer. It actually sucks up the moisture out of the atmosphere just like a dehumidifier. Did you know that? I have to admit that I didn’t. Isn’t that so cool?
On top of that, when you add the essential oil, the room will smell amazing.

As it turns out, a lot of folks were wowed by how easy and simple this hack was. So was I. And it won’t take too much time at all.
So what do you think of this DIY home deodorizer?
Do you think it’s a good idea? I’m all over this I have to admit. I’m going to make this as soon as I get my hands on some mason jars. I’m so excited now, ha, ha!
