Who doesn’t love a good movie? I know I sure do. The unfortunate truth is that they’re few and far between. For every good film, it seems as if there is a myriad of just plain awful flicks.
Some are so bad in fact, that audiences couldn’t even make it to the final credits.

The most exciting thing that The Lighthouse has to offer its audience is a painfully awkward and borderline disturbing scene where Robert Pattinson is furiously and absent-mindedly pleasuring himself.
*A Clockwork Orange*
Maybe it’s the brutality of the film or perhaps it’s the fact that the main protagonist delights in raping and causing general havoc to the world around him.
Whatever the case, A Clockwork Orange has many people reaching for the remote.
Pink Floyd’s *The Wall*
Yes, this isn’t so much a film as it is a visual representation or companion to Pink Floyd’s album of the same name.
That being said, this movie is a walking acid trip from start to finish. Not in a good way, either.
*The Blair Witch Project*
This arguably groundbreaking found-footage film helped kick start an entire genre!
Unfortunately, at the time of its release , people didn’t really understand what they were seeing. They were thrown by the shaky camera work and poor production value.
*The Exorcist*
When The Exorcist originally hit theatres, many people didn’t just walk out – they were carried out !
EMTs and paramedics responded to a number of calls where movie patrons had fainted or became violently ill.
*Irreversible*
The opening ten minutes of Irreversible might be one of the most disturbingly violent, unsettling scenes in the history of cinema.
Be warned : This film is not for the squeamish.
*Sausage Party*
On paper, an adult-themed animated feature starring Seth Rogen seemed like a slam dunk.
Sadly, the film’s reliance on sexual innuendo and toilet humor made it easy to forget .

*Requiem For A Dream*
Requiem for a Dream is a deeply disturbing film . It’s the kind of movie you watch once in your life and then shelf forever. What makes Requiem for a Dream so hard to get through is its graphic depictions of drug abuse and their horrific consequences.
*8MM*
8mm is a film that shines a light on the very ugly reality of human sex trafficking . More specifically, child sex trafficking.
It’s an incredible film with a lot to say. That is, if you can bear to hear it.
*Spider-Man 3*
Without a doubt, Spider-Man 3 was a mistake. Not only was the film littered with plotholes, but it was also plagued with questionable dialogue and extremely odd dance routines .
I will never understand how anyone could have thought that was a good idea.
*The Room*
Was it a joke? Is Tommy Wiseau actually a filmmaking genius and we’re all just too ignorant to be able to grasp the greatness of The Room ?
Probably not. This film was such hot trash that people originally thought it was supposed to be a comedy.
*Hereditary*
Hereditary is a paradox. On the one hand, it’s perhaps the greatest addition to the horror genre in over a decade. However, in order to discover that truth you first have to sit through it.
Which is no easy task, I assure you.
*Gerald’s Game*
Stephen King has been on an absolute tear these past few years. It seems as if every single book he’s ever written is now being turned into a movie or TV show!
Gerald’s Game is truly one of his best if you’re brave enough to make it to the end.
*Saw II*
What began as a breakthrough for the horror genre, quickly dissolved into cheap thrills and predictable scares. When Saw II lost the ability to genuinely frighten its audience, they decided that disgusting them was the next best thing.
*Blue Velvet*
I just couldn’t sum it up any better than this:
“The discovery of a severed human ear found in a field leads a young man on an investigation related to a beautiful, mysterious nightclub singer and a group of psychopathic criminals who have kidnapped her child.”
*The Machinist*
Christian Bale is known for his crazy method acting body transformations . For his role in The Machinist , he took things to an entirely new level.
Is he awake? Is it all a dream? Who knows, I’ve never made it all the way to the end!
*American Psycho*
Didn’t I just say that Christian Bale has had some crazy body transformations? And this wasn’t even when he had his Batman body!
American Psycho attempts to portray the inner workings of a psychopath . Unfortunately for most, it was just far too graphic and strange to sit through.
*No Country For Old Men*
“Wait – so is Josh Brolin dead? Why did he get killed off-screen? What’s happening here!”
Those were my exact words the first time I sat down to watch No Country For Old Men . This might be an unpopular opinion, but when it comes to the Coen Brothers : the Emperor has no clothes.
*There Will Be Blood*
This period piece about a greedy oil tycoon is about as enjoyable as watching paint dry. Not only is it slow-paced, but the whole story itself just makes no sense.
Were it not for the fact that Daniel Day-Lewis gives a career-defining performance, this film would have been long forgotten.
*The Lobster*
On the surface, the plot behind The Lobster seems intriguing: You either find a mate as a human or you’re turned into an animal of your choice.
Enticing as the premise is, the film is a convoluted failure to launch.
*Pi*
So if you thought films like Requiem for a Dream and Black Swan were hard to sit through, brother, you haven’t seen anything yet.
Darren Aronovsky ‘s directorial debut is a labyrinth of weirdness. A proverbial Rubik’s cube of confusion.
*Eyes Wide Shut*
Eyes Wide Shut is an odyssey of the human psyche and sexual experience. The film is highly regarded and is considered one of Stanley Kubrick ‘s best.
I personally find it to be creepy and drawn out, but I’m certainly no Gene Siskel.
*Suspiria*
Yuck. Just yuck. I had to completely shut off my TV after watching the contortionist dance sequence in Suspiria . I made it all the way through, but barely. I can confidently say it doesn’t get any better, either.
This is a disgusting, confusing, and disappointing film.
