A three-year-old girl from New York is doing her part to keep spirits high during the ongoing pandemic by whipping up some delicious homemade treats for essential workers.
As Good Morning America reported, Mia Villa has baked over 1,000 chocolate chip cookies since lockdown began, and has been delivering the desserts to front-line workers and first responders as thanks for their continued efforts during these difficult times.

The toddler has been perfecting her cookie recipe since she was 18-months-old, so you can be sure those essential workers are getting the best treats possible.
Mom Devin Villa said she came up with the idea for the dessert deliveries after noticing how much of an emotional toll the pandemic was having on people, particularly those on the front lines.
“The world was feeling down and we needed some kindness,” she told GMA . ” “I thought, ‘Who doesn’t love a chocolate chip cookie?’ This little 3-year-old could spread smiles and I hope it teaches her lessons.”
Thus, “Mia’s Cookie Jar” was born!
With the help of her mom, Mia bakes and personally delivers her chocolate chip cookies to hospital staff, grocery store workers, and veterinarians, as well as fire and police departments.
And of course, they make sure to stay at a safe, social distance while handing over the goods!
Photos posted to Mia’s Facebook page show the toddler hard at work making her specialty cookies.
Just like any other pastry chef, the toddler makes sure to put on her adorable apron and matching hat before she gets baking.
“She does it all by herself,” Devin told the Daily Gazette , adding that Mia will sing songs like “Pat-a-cake” to remind herself to pack the brown sugar, and enjoys busting a move while watching the electric mixer do it’s stuff.
Followers of their Facebook page, “Mia’s Cookie Jar”, suggest people in and around their town of Stillwater who could use a cookie delivery.
Then the toddler and her mom get to work making the tastiest cookies possible to box up and bring to those hard workers, along with a hand-drawn picture, courtesy of Mia.
“We’ve gone as far as an hour away from home to deliver them,” Devin told GMA. “They’re so excited to see her, so thankful for what she’s doing.”
And they also make sure to give little Mia something in return for her generosity.
So far she’s received junior police badges and a patch from Knolls Atomic Laboratory, as well as several other tokens from grateful cookie recipients.
As the pandemic continues, Devin said she and Mia plan on continuing their dessert deliveries as well.
“I’m proud of her. It’s good to see… If a three-year-old can do something like this then we all should be able to do something kind for someone,” she told the Gazette .
