After a recent trip to a zoo in Indonesia , TikToker @minorcrimes (Lola Testu) now has a story that she’ll be able to tell for the rest of her life. And it’s all thanks to a trendy ape.
A group of onlookers watched in awe as a mother orangutan found Lola’s fallen sunglasses and preceded to wear them just as a human would. Thus raising the question — do orangutans have fashion sense?
TikTok user @minorcrimes (Lola Testu) accidentally dropped her sunglasses into an orangutan enclosure at the zoo.

One of the great apes saw the glasses fall and immediately went over to investigate. At first, it appeared as if the orangutan might eat the newfound pair of shades.
But in a truly cool twist of fate, the mother ape decided to flex her fashion muscles and try on the sunglasses.

Onlookers laughed and cheered in awe as the mother ape sauntered around her enclosure, looking as cool as any ape had ever been. At one point in time, her baby tries to steal the glasses from her face but to no avail.
As wild as this behavior might appear to be, experts say it’s actually quite common.

According to the World Wildlife Foundation, human beings and orangutans share 96.4% of their genetic traits. There are even instances where apes have been recorded mimicking human speech and vocal patterns
To top it off, the orangutan was even kind enough to throw the sunglasses back once she’d finished with them.
“So I’m down a pair of sunglasses but up a very good story,” Lola said in the video description.
