I never used to be the kind of person who daydreamed about my wedding day, or fantasized about the man who will be waiting for me at the end of the altar. Honestly, for the longest time I didn’t even want to get married.
But what happens when you get older? Your mind changes. And indeed, mine has.
Now all I can think about is what life will be like once I do have a husband. And if these quotes are anything to go on, it’s certainly going to be… interesting , to say the least. But as funny as they are, they also offer some good advice.
Lesson number one: make sure you pick a good one, because you’re going to be stuck with him for a long time.
Sure, divorce is a thing and it’s definitely not as taboo in our society as it once was. I also know people don’t necessarily get married with the intention of one day divorcing that person they vowed to love until death and stuff.
But for me, I’m going to try to be as picky as possible, because divorces sound messy and I’d really love to get it right the first time.

Lesson number three: be open and honest with your spouse.
I’ve been living with my boyfriend for awhile now, and I genuinely can’t imagine things getting any more open or honest. I’ve literally gotten those very same diarrhea texts from him, which are frequently accompanied by a photo of his saddened face post-bathroom trip.
So yeah, I’d say we’re already at this point, no ring necessary.
Lesson number four: above all else, patience is key.
Indeed, if I’ve learned anything from these marriage quotes, it’s that you really have to prepare yourself to deal with a whole lot of utter nonsense , courtesy of the Mr. in your relationship.
But as long as you’re able to take a step back, breathe, and find your inner peace, you should be fine.
That being said, I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to snap at him every once in awhile so he learns to stay the heck out of your way .
