“This Bocce Ball court uses crushed oyster shells as a ground cover and has a sign warning people if they have a shellfish allergy.”
There’s something really chaotic about this sign. The fact that it’s explicitly for bocce ball, and not for any other sport, is kind of strange. Then there’s the fact that it’s covered in crushed oyster shells, which seems like… a choice.
If you love bocce but have a shellfish allergy, do not interract.
“Our beer can had a hidden second label underneath.”
I guess the place that canned this beer had other cans on hand and just covered their label up? Makes sense, and yet doesn’t make sense.
Oh well, beer’s beer at the end of the day. No use trying to make sense of it.
“Lured by the light, a small moth got trapped in my candle’s wax.”
That’s gotta hurt. It’s kind of sad to look at, but then again, it’s the moth’s own fault for getting so close to something so hot, just to get close to the light. I’ll never understand why moths do the things they do.
“This moss growing, following the chair’s design.”
This like this are always so strange, even if they are kind of cool. I’m not going to bother asking why that chair is where it is, but at least the nature around it made it look super pretty in its own way.
“How this linguine arrived in the package.”
Dried pasta was, at one point, not dry. So it could, in theory, get bent and twisted into random things like this. Still, it’s probably the last thing you’d expect to see in a pack of premade pasta noddles, even if it is kind of amazing.
“The world’s roundest object, at the Deutsche museum in Munich, Germany.”
I’m not really sure how they know this thing is the world’s roundest object, but I’ll take their word for it.
How is it rounder than anything else, though? How are they able to measure that? Some things will just never have an explanation.
“This church under water in Italy.”
Is it the result of flooding thanks to climate change? Is it just a church that got built in a really terrible spot? Who’s to say? All I know is that it’s so strange, and yet such a cool thing to look at. Would be great to see in person.
“A perfect little mushroom found while biking on the Coastal Trail in Anchorage, Alaska.”
This is the kind of mushroom that you’d see in a cartoon or a video game. The red cap with the white spots is kind of iconic. But in real life, they look so strange, like some kind of alien plant.
“This is how a cow’s mouth looks inside.”
This is something I never knew I needed to know, and now that I know, I can’t say it’s made my life any better or worse. It’s simply the inside of a cow’s mouth. Very strange, but coming from an animal with multiple stomachs, are we surprised?
“My smoker wood pellets (right) look similar to rat poison (left).”
Weird and terrifying . Rat poison is, unsurprisingly, also poisonous to humans, so if you get that too close to your food, you probably won’t have a good time. The fact that it looks like something you would use near food? Just ain’t right.
“Found this beast of a lobster claw on the beach!”
I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of glad we’re only seeing the claw. Because that claw is bigger than a human hand, so you can only imagine what the whole thing looked like.
Who even knew lobsters came in that size?
“This message stamped on the squeaker inside the stuffed animal my dog just destroyed.”
I guess some dogs are masters of destroying toys, because this must happen enough times that this toy company decided to start putting messages on the squeakers. And that’s pretty cute, if not a little strange.
“One of my Potato Smileys came with an existential crisis.”
I love Potato Smileys. They make me so happy. But that one that’s frowning? It’s kind of making me sad. Like, who hurt it? How did it end up in such a bad mood? I think we all deserve an answer.
“Took my little cousin to the pond, she noticed a duck whose whole body looks like the other ducks’ heads.”
Ducks have such pretty feathers on their heads. This duck got really lucky (or maybe unlucky), and got to have the patter on its whole body. It’s kind of mesmerising. I almost can’t look away.
“This traffic light is showing solid red and green at the same time.”
Yeah, I have no idea how you’re supposed to cross though this intersection. Do you stop? Do you go? Do you just treat it like a 4-way stop sign? Hopefully that gets fixed sooner rather than later, because it’s an accident waiting to happen.
“My bag of Sour Patch Watermelons had a Swedish Fish in it.”
All these candies get made and packaged in the same places, so it’s no surprise that some of them get mixed up in the wrong bag. But no one actually expects it to happen to them. It’s kind of like a fun little surprise.
“A bee hitched a ride on my train to work this morning.”
On the plus side, this is a bumblebee, which are pretty harmless as far as bees go. The little buddy just needed a break, I guess, and decided to take the train on this guy’s knee. Strange, but kind of cute in a way.
“The Turtles blizzard from Dairy Queen has little chocolate caramel turtles.”
These. Are. So. Cute! I mean, it almost seems like a waste, considering they’re going to be mixed into ice cream that you’re most likely going to shovel down your mouth. But I really appreciate the effort DQ put into these.
“This car with taillights that spell ‘lol run.'”
At this point, I’d be totally unsurprised if someone did this on purpose, like they customized their car so that the taillights would spell words. It seems like the kind of weird thing a car enthusiast would do.
And it’s the kind of thing we love to stop and stare at.
“This butterfly matching the exact colors of my running shoes.”
I wonder if that butterfly is, like, super self-aware and knows exactly what colors its wings are. And then saw a pair of shoes that looked like its wings, and decided to hang around for a bit.
Or maybe it just confused the shoes for another butterfly. Either way, it’s pretty odd.
“My plasticware is having an identity crisis.”
There’s one big mystery surrounding this box of plasticware. One question that we probably are all wondering. And that question is: are they spoons, or forks? Maybe they’re a combination of both. Heck, they could even be plastic knives for all we know.
“Found this lab experiment mixed into my crackers.”
A manufacturing error, most likely. While it probably won’t change the taste of the animal crackers, it might change the experience. Suddenly, it looks more like a scene out of a science fiction movie than a non-threatening afternoon snack. It’s just so weird.
“Found a very tall sunflower, I’m 5’10″ for comparison.”
I actually had no idea sunflowers could get this tall until I started seeing pictures of them online. This one is at least 10 feet tall, which is pretty impressive.
How these tall, skinny plants can keep themselves upright without falling over is beyond me.
“Almost 3 years of collecting balls from fountain pen ink reserves.”
I’m not sure why anyone would want to do something like this, but I honestly can’t complain. It looks cool, even if those pen balls aren’t really that useful anymore.
Unless some kind of awesome art can be made from it…
“A white UPS truck.”
This is so unnatural. I’ve never seen a UPS truck that wasn’t that brown color. This one looks like it spent a bit too much time out in the sun, and now it’s bleached and devoid of its original color.
I literally can’t get over how strange this looks.
“The tiny arm rest I had on my flight.”
Now that’s a space saver. I’m not sure why this airplane couldn’t just have normal-sized armrests, or even ones that were slightly larger, but at least it’s better than not having one at all.
I wonder if they’re even that comfortable to use.
“There is a 23 storey building in Duisburg, Germany with absolutely no windows.”
Meanwhile, this building. I’m not sure if it’s actually used, but I’d hate to be inside of there. No natural light at all is just depressing.
On the plus side, it looks really cool from the outside. Still wouldn’t go in, though.
“My -14.75 prescription glasses.”
I don’t wear glasses, but even I know that when the lenses are that thick, the prescription is strong . It probably takes a long time to get them made.
I don’t know how anyone who needs glasses this strong could see without them, so hopefully they never get lost.

I don’t think I’m ready for delivery robots. Even if they are kind of cute. I’ll stick to regular people driving around in delivery trucks, thank you very much. At least those people you can thank and stuff.
This may be going a bit too far.

This is just unfortunate. This fly didn’t stand a chance against whatever machinery they used to make this mask. And honestly, who could bring themselves to then put it on their face? Because I can tell you right now it’d be going straight into the garbage if I ever found it.
