Brooke Burke is known for many things. Not only was she a fixture on our television screens for years as the host of Dancing with the Stars , but she is virtually ageless, as well! I mean seriously — in what world is she 49-years-old? Despite her out-of-this-world beauty, Brooke proved this past week that she is in fact human, and not an etheral goddess, by enduring a major injury to her ACL.
See? Celebrities are just like us!
Brooke Burke was the host of *Dancing with the Stars* for years alongside the beloved Tom Bergeron.

After leaving the show in 2013, Brooke launched her own fitness company and app, helping fans around the world look and feel their best.
I’ve watched some of the videos, while in my sweatpants eating popcorn, and they look really fun!
While being active has its perks, it also has its risks, and no, I’m not just talking about breaking a hip.

You’ve never heard of someone enduring a serious injury after spending “too much time” playing Candy Crush on their phone or watching too much TLC.
Brooke, however, learned the hard way that sometimes exercise has an evil side.
The 49-year-old recently shared with fans that she had injured her ACL and had to undergo major surgery.
For those of you who don’t know, ACL stands for anterior cruciate ligament. The ACL helps stabilize the knee joint as it connects the thighbone (femur) to the shinbone (tibia).
Ouch, right?
Sharing a stunning, makeup-free selfie from her hospital bed with fans earlier this week, Brooke explained to fans what was happening.

“Surgery day, see you on the other side. Thank you for all the love and light,” she captioned the now-deleted pic.
After fans expressed their concern, Brooke was quick to clarify what was going on.
“Thank you so much for all the love and light,” she began.

“I certainly didn’t mean to scare anyone. I was a bit out of it this morning…So, tore my ACL skiing, nothing fabulous‼️ But it required surgery. I’ll be down for the count for a bit but I’m at home recovering & doing great and I will use this challenge as an opportunity to become a better teacher, & to create low impact – different content for the next few months.”
She continued: “I will stay connected to all of you as I transition from being a busy little hummingbird (what my friends call me) to more stillness and a different type of self-care.”
“It’s a great time for all of us to connect and the company will feed my soul. Thank you for everything you do that helps me feel good,” Brooke concluded, as per Daily Mail .
We’re wishing Brooke a speedy recovery!
