Chilling CCTV footage that has gone viral online shows the moment a woman bravely leapt into action to save a little girl when their building was hit with the blast of the Beirut explosion .
The woman, who is believed to be a maid for the family, is being praised online for selflessly risking her own life in order to carry the toddler to safety.

At the beginning of the clip, the woman can be seen vacuuming what appears to be a terrace when she first feels a tremor.
Visibly confused, the maid glances around the room while a nearby toddler continues to play.
With the shades drawn over the window, presumably neither were able to see the large fire that had just erupted at a warehouse in the port area of Beirut, but they would soon feel and experience its terrifying effects.
A moment later, a large blast hits the building, shattering the windows and sending the room into a state of utter chaos.
This is clearly the point at which the warehouse fire triggered a massive explosion, sending a devastating shock-wave across the city that leveled buildings in an impact that was felt more than 100 miles away .
It’s at this point in the video that the maid truly proves herself a selfless hero.
Without hesitating, she drops the hose of the vacuum and swoops up the little girl into her arms, hurrying them both out of the destroyed room and to safety.
Although she didn’t know what would follow the blast or the structural state of their affected building, the woman thought first about the child and getting that little girl somewhere safe.
The video was shared to Twitter by journalist Muhammed Lila in an effort to spotlight the maid’s bravery in the face of terrifying destruction.
“This is the exact moment a maid risked her own life to save a little child, just as the explosion occurred,” he wrote .
“Heroes can be anywhere.”
As of writing, the video has over 625,000 views and has been shared across the platform by thousands of users.
In the comments, many people are praising the maid for her quick-thinking and selfless actions.
“Crazy thing is her first step,” this person wrote. “That’s where your brain goes. There was never a doubt she was getting to that kid. There was not even a split second thought to run.”
Another added, “Wow, no hesitation and moved gracefully with intent, she is a mother for sure.”
Others pointed out how unbelievably lucky the child was to have moved from her spot prior to the explosion.
Initially the little girl can be seen sitting in a small chair at the corner of the terrace. But as the maid looks around to find the source of the first rumble, she ambles over to inspect a toy near the woman, thus moving her out of the way of the debris from the subsequent explosion.
