Jon & Kate Plus Eight star Jon Gosselin is speaking out after allegations of abuse against his 16-year-old son Collin went viral earlier this week.
Now, the dad of eight is denying the child abuse allegations .
People magazine broke the story earlier this week, confirming that mom Kate Gosselin was aware of the ongoing investigation.

Former TLC star Jon Gosselin is addressing the child abuse allegations that were published by *People* magazine earlier this week.
In the publications exclusive article, they alleged the 43-year-old father of eight was currently under investigation after an incident resulting in Jon “punching and kicking” 16-year-old son Collin Gosselin.
*People* reported that the County of Berks, Pennsylvania Child & Youth Services opened an investigation into the allegations of “causing bodily injury to a child through recent act/failure to act: hitting/punching.”
However, Jon was reportedly not named as the alleged abuser in the documents.
Jon has had two of his eight children, twins Hannah and Collin, living with him for several years now.
Jon’s other six children are living with his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin.
In response to the allegations, Kate told People , “You do not punch and kick your children.”
“You do not kick a child. I don’t want to hear any excuses from anyone, not from his father, not from local law enforcement, not from court personnel whose job is supposedly to ensure the best interests of my children.”
“There is a child abuse law, PA 23, section 8i [that] states that doing any of the following, regardless of whether it causes injury, is child abuse, and first on that list is kicking. Period.”
Kate continued: “I don’t want my children around him. Enough is enough.”
The allegations came after Collin accused his father of abuse in a now deleted Instagram post.
“My dad is a liar,” Collin wrote, according to People .
“Yesterday he beat me up and thought nothing of it, he punched me in the face and gave me a swollen nose and I started bleeding.”
Collin’s post continued: “He then continued to kick me in the ribs after I was on the floor. He is a liar.”
This is not the first time Collin has used his private social media page to communicate with the public.
Earlier this year, Collin shared a heartfelt Mother’s Day tribute to Jon’s longtime girlfriend, Colleen Conrad.
The 16-year-old called Colleen “so much more than a mother to me, you are one of my guidelines and one of my guiding lights.”

In response to the new developments, Kate told *People*, “I do not want this buried, swept under the rug or minimized.”
“As a mother, I am not going to sit quietly and idly by while my child, any of my children, is assaulted by anyone, let alone their own father.”
She continued: “I am spotlighting this, and I will keep shouting about it, in the hopes that the authorities and the courts will finally do the right thing.”
“Do not return my child to an abuser’s home. Jon needs to be charged with a crime. If this were your child, would you feel okay with having it swept under the rug?”
Now, Jon’s rep is responding to the allegations on his behalf.
“Jon has never abused Collin. No charges have been filed against him and there’s no ongoing CYS investigation,” his rep told E! News .
“Collin has endured severe trauma. Jon is a loving father who has worked hard to ensure that his son gets the support and help he needs,” the statement concluded.
There have been no further updates from Collin or Kate since Jon released his statement.
