Everyone has secrets , even our parents. There are definitely things a parent wouldn’t want their kids to see. Skeletons in their closes, one could say. Figuratively and literally.
In an Ask Reddit thread , someone posed a simple question: “What is the worst thing you have found in your parents’ closet?” A lot of people answered, and what they said was pretty wild.
“A few packages I ordered on Amazon that she claimed never arrived.” – caileran
They go on to talk about some of the things their mom stole: “Main things I remember was a small husky plush that was meant as a bday gift, an ethernet cable and a new backpack for me.” Yikes.
“My dog’s ashes about 4 years after they told me he ran away.” – nothing_fits
This is actually horrible. Sometimes telling the truth is a lot better than making up a white lie. This is one of those cases where the truth would’ve been better from the start. So tragic…
“I found a pair of pink fuzzy handcuffs and thought they would be great to play a game with my brothers (like a cops and robbers game).” – Alternis64

Yeah, I think we all know what those handcuffs were really for.

Well, that’s one way to find out your father isn’t your father. It’s definitely not the best way, but it could’ve been a lot worse, too. So, uh, maybe just block that memory out?

Kids are going to find out that Santa isn’t real one way or another. Sometimes I think that it might be better to rip the Band-Aid off. Of course, when they go to school and start telling their friends… then it’s a bit of a problem.

Childbirth may be a miracle, but that doesn’t mean we actually have to see it. Just the thought of finding literal birth photos is kind of stressing me out a little.

I’m pretty sure our parents telling us a toy has “gone missing” is just code for “we hate it so we got rid of it but didn’t want to hurt your feelings.” Sometimes, it’s just like that.

I guess depending on who you ask, this is pretty bad. I’ve never seen the movie, but I’m guessing by the fact that this person talked about it in the thread, it isn’t very good.

I mean, what else are you supposed to do with them? Throwing them out seems a little odd, and putting them on display is even odder. So I guess just leave them in a box in your closet until you can “lose” them during a move.

Hard to believe someone could look at Pokémon games from the ’90s and call those violent (even the ones from today, for that matter). But why did the parents have the guidebook to begin with? Maybe they were taking pictures of Pikachu on a surfboard on the sly.

I’m constantly afraid of finding a spider egg sac anywhere. In my closet, in my parents’ closet, in a different room. They could literally be anywhere and we’d never know.

I feel like parents love hiding the good stuff from their kids. After all, they’re (usually) better at exercising self control when it comes to candy and chocolate.

Apparently, OP said it was actually a roast, and it got misplaced at one point. Still super weird, though.

That’s a pretty… random place to keep a whole salami while it cures. But I guess it’s not the worst thing in the world.
