The time has come! The day is here! The moment has been realized! We finally have news of who the new, permanent Jeopardy! hosts will be (YES I said hosts) and it’s great news for fans of The Big Bang Theory actress Mayim Bialik, and I guess also great news for executive producer Mike Richards if he has any fans out there?
As fans may recall, it was reported last week that Mike was in advanced negotiations with Sony Pictures Television to become the host and begin a new era following Alex Trebek’s 36-year hosting stint.
On Wednesday, it was reported that Mayim would also take part in the hosting gig.

However, it won’t be on a daily basis.
According to CNBC long-time producer Mike will host the long-running daily syndicated program while Mayim will host primetime and spin-off specials.
“We took this decision incredibly seriously,” said the chairman of global television studios and corporate development for Sony Pictures, Ravi Ahuja.
He continued:
“A tremendous amount of work and deliberation has gone into it, perhaps more than has ever gone into the selection of hosts for a show – deservedly so because it’s Jeopardy! and we are following the incomparable Alex Trebek. We knew early on that we wanted to divide the hosting responsibilities and it became very clear that Mike and Mayim were the undeniable choices.”
“They were both at the top of our research and analysis,” Ravi concluded.
Now, Mayim is speaking out for the first time about her unbelievable new opportunity in an emotional new tweet.
Posting a link to the Deadline article, Mayim wrote: “IT’S TRUE!!!! Been waiting a long time to tell you all.”
“Really really honoured and astounded and excited for this – it’s beyond anything I ever imagined could happen.”
