As a celebrity parent, it can be easy to spoil your children. Heck, it can be easy as a normal person to spoil your children. So naturally, I have huge respect for celebrities who are able to raise humble, down-to-earth children — like Kevin Hart!
So when the comedian came under fire for purchasing his 16-year-old daughter Heaven a Mercedes SUV for her birthday, many fans were quick to defend him.

Kevin shares Heaven and his 13-year-old son Hendrix with his ex-wife, Torrei Hart.
He’s also the father of son Kenzo, 3, and daughter Kaori, 5 months, with wife Eniko Parrish.
Kevin’s four children are always making appearances on his social media — he truly seems like the best dad!
So when the 41-year-old threw a surprise party for his daughter’s 16th birthday, fans were hardly surprised.
TMZ reports that Heaven came home to find her family and friends at her house to celebrate. In addition to the gift of her loved ones PRESENT, her physical present was a black luxury SUV parked in the driveway with two big red bows on top.
The Los Angeles–based event planning company bDASHd shared footage from the surprise party on Instagram.
“Heaven Hart’s Sweet 16 @kevinhart4real, @enikohart, and @torreihart Surprise their daughter with a G-class Mercedes Benz, a Sweet 16 Celebration Dinner, and Outdoor Movie with her family and closest friends,” the party planning company wrote.
The party was themed to the Japanese manga titled *My Hero Academia.*
bDASHd gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the 16-year-old’s outdoor movie party on their Instagram, which included the most adorable customized goodies!
The outdoor theatre’s “concession stand” had custom candy with Heaven’s face on it.
Baby Heaven’s face graced boxes of Swedish Fish, M&Ms, and Skittles!
They even had a personalized PPE station because, ya know, the PANDEMIC!

Needless to say, this was a true *My Super Sweet 16* moment!
However, the generous gift garnered mixed reactions from fans.
“Kind of $$$ for first as they tend to ding them up….but it is his life,” commented one Facebook user.
“Thanks for sharing this because we know millions of people have lost everything during this time and it’s nice to know there are some who are not and throwing it in our faces. Just a lovely feeling, also why is it they need to tell the world how good they are doing in times like these..” commented another.
Thankfully, many fans were quick to defend the comedian’s gift.
“So many offended people over what a father bought HIS daughter. He can afford it. Good for him. If I could have given my son that vehicle I would have,” wrote one parent.
“Safety isn’t cheap. Happy Birthday young lady. I’d do the same if I where[sic] in his shoes,” wrote another.
“It is all perspective,” commented another fan.
“His net worth is $200 MILLION, $85K is a drop in the bucket. It is no different from a normal family that has a net worth of $300,000 buying their kid a used Kia,” they added.
And besides, is it really any of our business how KEVIN HART spends his money?
I don’t think so!
I think it’s safe to say EVERY parent would do the same for their child if they could.
Good for Kevin and good for Heaven! She seems like a great kid with an awesome head on her shoulders, so why not spoil her for a milestone birthday?
