While some of us are law-abiding citizens who do things by the book, there are those who just are not that way at all. They try to find ways to save money and make the most of their time and items, so that they can get more free things for less money.

Let’s face it, life is expensive and we all love to and want to save money.
However, some people are willing to go a bit further than others to save some cheddar, and sometimes, it can lead to some split opinions on the matter.
TikTok user Shemar Waugh recently split the Internet on a trick he has been pulling while shopping.
Shemar apparently is an avid candle lover, like many of us are, and loves those big, three-whick Bath & Body Works candles that everyone goes crazy over.
They are definitely amazing and also last a pretty long time if you use them the proper way.
But, those candles are pricey.
Because they are so big and they are name-brand, the Bath & Body Works candles tend to be pricier than other candles you may buy, say at a discount store.
So, Shemar came up with a way to use some of the candles, but also get some of them for free.
Shemar shared in a video that he returns “used” candles to the store.
In the video, Shemar is bringing in a used Bath & Body Works candle and returning it, in order to exchange the candle for new, fully-filled, and not used candles.
He says that he tried the hack and it worked.
In the video, you can see that the candles are at least 1/2 used.
While the candles he is returning are not entirely empty, they are definitely used by 1/2, if not a little more than 1/2.
And, in exchange, he gets to grab brand new candles that are not used even one bit.
To prove it to work and be true, Shemar even shared his receipt.
In the video, he also shared the receipt from Bath & Body Works showcasing that for all of the items he “purchased,” he paid a total of $0.
He returned 5 candles and purchased 5 other items in order to get them for free.
People online were pretty divided on whether or not this was okay.
Some people thought it was “genius” and that if it gets you free candles, why not take advantage of the system.
It’s not like they own the company or the store, so why should anyone care what we do?
However, others felt this was totally wrong.
Many people who actually work for Bath & Body Works say that this is “wrong” and it’s cheating the system by manipulating their return policy.
Apparently, you can return an item if you claim to be “unsatisfied” with it. But, if you’re burning the candles all the way down, it seems you are pretty damn satisfied with it.
Other people felt as though this was “theft.”
Some thought that this was theft, by lying to a store in order to receive free things.
Some commenters said that they “might as well just put it in their bag and walk out of the store” because this is the same thing.
And, there were other employees who chimed in.
Apparently, the company will only take back items that are used “slightly.”
Completely empty candles will not be taken back and if it’s “over halfway burned” they will not accept it or exchange it.
Of course, there were those that said to stop wasting their money entirely.
There were also those in the comments that said if they’re going to want free items for expensive candles, they have to stop “wasting money” on candles that cost so much when stores like TJ Maxx, Ross’s, and Marshalls sell candles for 1/2 of the price.
