These are the movies that had an original, sure, but we would rather watch the sequel any day, any time.
It doesn’t mean the originals are bad, the sequel is just better. Sometimes, just through the addition of an actor, the movie is brought to a whole other level of magic.

Seems The Dark Knight wasn’t the only better Batman sequel!
Sure, the first Batman was dark and gothic, but the second amped that dark, gothic nature up to a whole other level!
*Terminator 2: Judgement Day*
While the first Terminator is no doubt a classic, the second one is considered to be one of the all-time action greats.
All they needed to do was switch Arnold from the bad to the good guy.
*Godzilla: King Of The Monsters*
The first of the Godzilla reboots was cool, but it didn’t give us any really cool monsters for Godzilla to fight.
The sequel was jam-packed with them, including the fan-favorite King Ghidorah.
*Captain America: The Winter Soldier*
The first Captain America was not widely loved.
The second Captain America movie, with all of its spy-thriller action and mystery, is widely beloved. It seems like a no-brainer to me that it should e on the list.

While the original Shrek will always hold a place in our hearts for being love and life, the second Shrek was a masterpiece of comedy, of action and of course, of songs.

Besides maybe Godfather 2 , this is the king of movie sequels that were better than the original.
In fact, this might be the greatest thing to come out of Star Wars .

But the fact of the matter is everyone knows The Dark Knight . Because it’s great. And Heath Ledger gave an iconic performance.
