Let’s be real for a second: there’s nothing better than taking a really long, hot shower.
Remember when you were really young and showering almost felt like a chore? Like it was this big inconvenience of a task that got in the way of you having fun?
Sometimes showers still feel that way, like when you have to wake up super early in the morning and (sometimes literally) drag yourself out of bed to go take one.
But once you’re in there, it’s like the world just stops.

What could be better than spending a solid 15 minutes or more locked away from everyone else and standing underneath that hot spray as your worries just wash away down the drain?
The steam, the familiar smell of your shampoo, the undeniable relaxation – yeah, showers are pretty amazing.
Ever heard of a little thing called “shower thoughts”?
Those are the random, perhaps entirely absurd, but still fascinating thoughts that come to mind while you’re blissfully standing in the shower and washing the shampoo out of your hair.
Are they all winners? No, of course not. But at the very least, some are interesting and worthy of a second thought. Just check out the amazing posts over in the subreddit r/Showerthoughts sometime.
Many of us would choose a shower over a bath any day.
Sure, baths can be relaxing too. But there’s just something about the idea of basically stewing in the same bath water for 10 minutes or longer than doesn’t really make it sound like the idea daily activity, like showering.
So while we might agree on the act of showering itself, we may not all agree about the specifics.
How hot should the shower be? Do you listen to music while you shower? Do you wash your body first and then wash your hair or the other way around?
There are actually a lot of variables to consider here.
One Twitter user decided to ask who washes their legs while in the shower and the internet quickly divided.

Connor Arpwel posed the question in the form of a poll . Since going live on Thursday, the poll has amassed over 660,000 responses with most people saying YES, they do wash their legs – 81 percent, to be exact.
People are getting pretty judgmental about that 19 percent who don’t wash their legs.

Harsh, but you gotta do what you gotta do. There are worst reasons to divorce someone, I guess.
Washing everything but the legs just seems silly to some people.

This person makes an interesting point, although personally, I would have likened our legs to the car’s tires, not the doors, but that’s neither here nor there.
However, there are some coming to the defense of those non-washers, as they shall henceforth be known as.

While not as full-body cleaning as a bath, showers do get the entire body at least relatively clean, so perhaps a thorough scrubbing of the legs isn’t exactly necessary.
One non-washer was clearly surprised to find out they were in the minority on this issue.
It must be tough to learn that almost everyone else has been doing something that you haven’t been, even something as seemingly simple as giving the old legs a quick wash in the shower.
Since this is the internet, some people offered up some less…serious answers.

Hard to argue with that airtight logic.
And then there were the people who couldn’t believe this has become such a hot debate.

They make a good point.
When it comes down to it, our showering habits are really just personal preference. And everyone’s probably just going to keep doing what they’ve been doing forever because at the end of the day, we’re creatures of habit.
As long as everyone is showering, we can all rest easy.
