Are you the proud owner (or renter) of a flush mount light? You know the one: The standard, round, comes-with-every-house light that offers no personality to your decor.
Same. And I hate it. Lucky for both of us, TikTok found a way to make them not only bearable but beautiful! Let’s check it out.
Flush mounts can truly be so ugly.

Honestly, who wants that thing? They’re ugly, they’re extremely hard to change the bulbs out of, and they collect dead bugs like it’s their job.
For one crafty TikTok user, this was a solvable problem.
Here’s what you’ll need.

According to user @imisabelrubia , you’re going to need a whole bundle of yarn and some embroidery hoops. You’ll also need scissors and something wide to wrap the yarn around.
Time to get to wrapping.

Hey, sometimes, beauty is pain. Arm pain. But trust me, you’re going to think all of that wrapping was worth it when you see the finished product, okay?
Once you’ve wrapped it 50 times, tie a piece of yarn around the wrap.

Do this BEFORE you cut the yarn off the lid. Basically, we’re tying off the middle of the bundle. Then, cut the yarn off the lid and fold it over, then tie again in the middle to create a tassel.
Don’t get mad.

But you’re going to need to do this quite a few times. I know, I’m sorry. This is one tedious craft, but the results are worth it if you’re into that boho chic look.
Once you’re done, it’s time to attach them to the hoops.

This won’t take you too long, don’t worry. Once you’re in the home stretch, you can really see the whole thing coming together! You can do this, I believe in you.
And it’s done!

The one thing I would note here is that you should use LED bulbs with this craft since the tassels could be a fire hazard. Or just leave the cover on!
The original user, @imisabelrubia, said it takes some time, but it’s worth it.

What you lose in time, you more than make up for in money saved. No one wants to spend a huge chunk of money on a chandelier.
Would you try this craft?

I would totally give this a go if it meant I didn’t have to look at a boob light any longer. What have you done to change your lighting? Let me know!
