With 793,777 confirmed cases throughout the world and at least 38,708 deaths at the time of this writing as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic , there is more reason than ever to be concerned about coronavirus.
As scared as most of us are, however, those whose jobs are now considered essential have particular reason to be anxious. Unlike many of us, they can’t stay home and must face the risk of contracting the virus daily in the course of their jobs. For this reason, it’s easy to understand why so many now laud these professionals as heroes.
And while health care workers are understandably the first example that tends to come to mind in people’s well-wishes, grocery store employees and truck drivers also have incredibly important roles to play in our ability to get through this crisis.
But that list is missing another group that seriously deserves recognition, but often gets forgotten because they’re not always around at the same time as us. Fortunately, the full video shows that the staff of at least one hospital understands how important they are.

As the clip begins, we can see health care workers in scrubs and face masks enter a large room in a hospital.
We can later see that more of them are already in this room, though it isn’t immediately clear for what purpose.
As two of them enter this room, however, we can see a member of the hospital’s cleaning staff arrive behind them.
The times being what they are, we see that she is also wearing a face mask as she goes about her day.
But as soon as she enters the room, everybody else starts clapping.
After all, cleanliness is more important than ever in times of a serious public health risk and by continuing to do her job despite the risks, this custodian is protecting everyone in a sense.
Although we can’t see much of her face, it’s clear that the worker is overwhelmed by this tribute.
It’s clear from her body language that she’s both shocked and touched by the applause and she soon blows her coworkers kisses.
And when the camera focuses on her, it becomes clear that she’s been moved to tears by their appreciation.
As we often do when we feel that way, she also seems compelled to touch her face, but remains responsible enough to keep stopping short of that.
Although we should have always recognized how important their efforts to keep public places clean are, that’s abundantly clear to us now.
And as we can see from the full video here, that appreciation obviously means a lot.
