The world continues to mourn the tragic deaths of 19 children and two adults killed in a school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. They were killed in a senseless act of violence and the news of the shooting had the world standing still.
Ongoing coverage continues to reveal more and more about the crime, but thankfully, there does appear to be some positive news as kind souls work to ease some of the sorrow.
An anonymous donor has stepped forth in the wake of the Uvalde school shooting.
On Friday, May 27, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced to reporters that, “An anonymous donor who attended the meeting and provided $175,000 to ensure that every cost of every family concerning anything about funeral services is going to be taken care of.”
It’s an immensely kind gesture for the victims’ families.
This comes after over a collective $7 million was raised via a GoFundMe hub , a page that hosted all the various GoFundMe campaigns that were created for the affected families.

The donor’s generosity is surely appreciated by all involved.
Governor Abbott also made other promises.
He vowed that mental health services would be available, telling reporters, “No family who is suffering from incalculable heartbreak at this time will have to worry about a single cost with regard to anything concerning this travesty.”
Plenty have spoken up in the aftermath of the tragedy.
Celebrities like Jimmy Kimmel and Matthew McConaughey made touching statements about the state of gun control, pleading citizens and politicians alike to consider their values at a time like this.
Investigations surrounding the shooting remain ongoing.
Police response to the situation has been heavily criticized as the public believes they acted far too slowly given the severity of what was happening. The reasoning behind this is still being looked into, and in the meantime, all we can do is wish peace upon the families of those who were killed.
