The decision to bring a dog into your home is one of the happiest and most joyous moments you will ever experience. The amount of love you feel for your goofy four-legged friend is unlike anything you’ll ever experience (sit down, human parents).
But the owners of Peanut the French Bulldog were thrown a curveball right from the very beginning. After weeks of trying to get their dog to obey commands, they finally came to the realization that their newborn pup was completely deaf and have since had to adjust their way of life as puppy parents.
At First Glance, Peanut Looks And Acts Just Like Your Average French Bulldog.

Peanut loves going for long walks with her owners, snoozing in her soft and comfy bed, and occasionally dressing up for special occasions — like Halloween. But not long after being brought home by her new mom and dad, it became clear that something wasn’t quite right. It started when Peanut’s paw-rents began to notice that she had trouble with name recall, and would often act as if she hadn’t heard her owners at all.
Time Passed With No Improvement, So Peanut’s Parents Decided It Was Time To Consult The Experts.

Upon taking their new pup to the animal hospital, Peanut’s vet was able to conduct a special hearing test. The results wound up proving what her parents had suspected all along — that Peanut was indeed 100% deaf in both ears. While the news was no doubt difficult to deal with, her parents were determined not to allow Peanut’s inability to hear to have any negative impact on her overall quality of life.
“She Is Still The Same Sweet Bundle Of Joy That Always Has A Smile On Her Face,” Peanut’s Owner Captioned The Video.

Something that has proved incredibly helpful for Peanut and her family is the fact that her parents had the wherewithal to begin her puppy training using hand signals. Peanut may not be able to hear her mom and dad calling her, but she certainly understands what they’re trying to tell her. Just because the dog can’t hear doesn’t mean she isn’t listening .
“We Are Committed To Giving You The Best Life,” The Caption Concludes.
Recently, Peanut and her paw-rents celebrated a milestone of living with one another for 100 days. It hasn’t always been easy, and there were plenty of sleepless nights. But despite the occasional hardship that comes from being a pet owner, Peanut’s parents are in full agreement that she is the light of their lives and wouldn’t trade their stone-deaf pup for anything in the world.
