‘Peaky Blinders’.
The gorgeous, suspenseful and jaw-dropping British TV show is finally getting its fifth season, and fans could not be more excited.
What will happen in this one? Who will live? Who will die?
We can answer those last two questions, but we can answer a bunch of other ones!
So that’s what we’re going to do right now: answer all the pressing questions you might have about the fifth season of Peaky Blinders !
The Cast.
Let’s get the obvious one out of the way: we know that Cillian Murphy will return once again as Tommy Shelby, to dazzle and excite us for yet another season.
The Cast (CONT).
However, as for the rest of the cast, we should expect a couple of people to return as well.
Most likely, we’ll see Aunt Pol (Helen McCrory) and Arthur Shelby (Paul Anderson) again.
The Cast (Guest Stars).
In the past, Peaky Blinders had some pretty hard-hitting guest stars.
Huge names like Tom Hardy and Adrian Brody have blessed us with their on-screen presence, and Season 5 will be no different.
The Cast (Guest Stars, CONT).
For this season, it’s been announced that we should see people like Sam Claflin, Anya Taylor-Joy, Brian Gleeson, and Emmett Scanlan joining the cast of the hit TV show.
The Director.
Usually, we’d see showrunner Steven Knight handing the reigns to a new director each season and the fifth isn’t going to change that tradition.
This time, it’ll be Irish director Anthony Byrne driving the stagecoach.
The Politics.
So as we know, at the end of Season 4 (told you there would be spoilers) Tommy became an MP for Birmingham South.
So Arthur will probably use Tommy’s position for some gain, and we’ll probably see a lot more politics.
The Setting.
Well, considering how Season 4 ended, with Tommy making a deal with… someone (we’ll save that reveal for later) you’d expect the series to move to Chicago.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the case, so we’ll be in Britain.
The Mobster.
Welcome to later! So Season 4 ended with Tommy making a deal with none other than Al Capone.
So, expect to see (or at least hear) a couple of things about the American gangster.
The Movie?
Well, there have been rumors floating around that the story of the Shelbys will end with a feature-length movie.
Considering the amount of series that have done so, maybe this will come to fruition.
The End?
Alright, so Stephen Knight told NME
“I want it to end with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in the Second World War, so that will be the start of the next chapter in British history. It’s that period.”
Considering Season 4 ended in 1926, it’s not far off.
The Release Date.
In the UK, we can only assume it’s going to start coming out in August.
As for the rest of the world (i.e: US Netflix), we’ll probably get it a few months after.
