Would you agree that good design by definition should not only be attractive but also serve some kind of function? That’s definitely how I look at it.
So I’m always baffled when I stumble upon items that clearly show those who invented them missed the mark. The following are perfect examples of that. Check them out and have a laugh (or cry).
This Halved Fireplace
Are my eyes playing tricks on me here? Did somebody try to separate this fireplace in half? First of all, I don’t see this working out at all. And second of all, “Why?” I don’t understand this logic, that’s all.
This Carpeted Restroom
Not only is the fact that this restroom has a carpet killing me, but it’s a public restroom. How can you even keep this place clean is pretty much beyond my comprehension? What a grand idea, huh?
This Kitchen Island
If you’re like me and you’re slightly clumsy, this is pretty much your worst nightmare. I can only imagine how many times I would stub my toe trying to get by this. It’s absolutely ridiculous, no?
This Tight Squeeze
Excuse me, but how can anybody enjoy using this bathroom? Isn’t it just a little bit of a tight squeeze? I don’t know about you, but I’m no Incredible Shrinking Woman to be able to fit in here.
These Fluorescent Lights
The 1980s called, and they want their fluorescent lights back, ha, ha! Why would anybody think this was a stellar decor choice in this day and age is pretty weird to me. What do you think of it?
This Couch
I like a unique piece of furniture as much as the next person. However, I never would have imagined getting something like this before. If this isn’t weirding you out, you’re a lot braver than me, hee, hee.

I don’t know if this is the case, but it seems to me somebody ran out of space for a proper bathroom facility. So they thought nobody would mind doing their business on the stairs instead. Isn’t that odd?
These Support Pillars
I don’t know who in their right mind would have thought putting a door in this place would fly. There is no way to open it without hitting these pillars. Good luck trying to get out.
This Kitchen Island Setup
Is this a modern looking kitchen island or a double fireman pole? I wouldn’t blame you if you guessed the latter, lol. That’s pretty much what I’m leaning towards anyway. Wouldn’t this get pretty awkward while somebody is trying to make dinner?
This Toilet Seat Cover
I can appreciate all the work that goes into knitting something from scratch. Sadly, I think the person who did this picked the wrong item to use their skills on. Have fun washing this toilet seat cover, alright?
This Ultimate Throne
Some people describe going to the bathroom as “sitting on the throne.” Perhaps this is what they ultimately want in their bathroom. I, for one, would have to take a pass on this decor move here.
This Lamp
I think having a mannequin lamp would be kind of cool. Am I right? Sadly, this isn’t exactly what I had in mind. Not only it’s starting to creep me out, but what kind of fashion sense is that?
Oh my, here I thought I had seen it all.
