Anyone who watched the TLC hit show 19 Kids and Counting knows the Duggar family lives their life by a very strict set of rules.
However, as the Duggar children have grown up, they have been calling the shots in their own lives!

It’s no secret that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar raise their children in an incredibly strict household.
The world has taken an interest in the deeply conservative Duggar family since their reality show first aired in 2008.
The couple identify as devout independent Baptists and hold their beliefs very near to their hearts.
This means that dad Jim Bob must approve of all of his children’s courtships.
If he doesn’t approve of the relationship, there’s no chance it’s happening.
When it comes to being a Duggar woman, Jim Bob and Michelle have taught their children to give their husbands whatever they want.
Speaking with The Today Show , Michelle said, “In your marriage, there will be times you’re going to be very exhausted. Your hubby comes home after a hard day’s work, you get the baby to bed, and he is going to be looking forward to that time with you. Be available.”
She continued: “Anyone can fix him lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need of love that he has, and you always need to be available when he calls.”
Michelle believes that being available for her husband “has been such a lifesaver for our marriage!”
While some of their children have chosen to follow in their parents’ ultra-conservative footsteps, others have rebelled.
Fans will remember the total social media frenzy Jinger started after she posted an Instagram picture with her family (after moving to California) while rocking a TANK TOP and POSSIBLY JEANS!
Of course, Duggar girls weren’t allowed to show their shoulders or wear jeans or shorts, so this moment was huge for Jinger!
Since that viral pic, the 26-year-old has continued to embrace her new style on social media.
Now, it looks like Jill Duggar is also breaking the mold when it comes to her conservative upbringing and is opening up about her decision to start wearing pants as well.
While filming a video for her YouTube channel, Jill and her husband, Derick, opened up about a bunch of frequently asked questions!
One of the questions was in regards to some of Jill’s latest wardrobe choices.
Jill explained that pants have now become a staple in her wardrobe.
“I kind of always thought they were cute, but I think that some of the decisions that we’ve made … even if I liked something before, I wouldn’t have done it because maybe of the backlash that I would get or something … from people close to me or something.”
“I just hate confrontation so maybe I would’ve avoided it.”
Jill continued: “I think because of the journey we had already been on as a couple that I was more comfortable with decisions that we make as a family.”
“Being OK sometimes with other people not being OK is a hard thing, but as long as we knew the decisions were not wrong, they could just be ones that other people might not make for themselves and that’s like, good for us.”
Good for Jill for making her own choices when it comes to her clothing!
Hopefully she can end a long day of wearing jeans with an ~alcoholic~ piña colada ’cause Jill drinks now too!
