Many first-time home-buyers or renters dream about decorating their own place, but there’s one thing holding them back: money. Decorating and covering up all those blank walls can be a daunting and costly process.
Thankfully, one TikTok user shared a simple DIY to turn shower curtains (yes, shower curtains) into gallery-style canvases. It sounds weird, but the results speak for themselves.
If you’ve ever tried decorating, you know the pain of trying to find large-scale art.

Simply put, that ish is EXPENSIVE. Even at a place like Marshall’s, a large print canvas will cost you over $50, and odds are it’ll be pretty ugly (I’m sorry, those paintings are just so awful and you know it.)
Let’s make one ourselves instead.

Grab your shower curtain of choice and get ready to do some DIYing. In case you’re wondering, I’m going to go with this one of Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park . Thanks.
Next, you’re going to consult this TikTok.

Actual DIY genius @orphabeatrice came up with this hack, and I can’t help but think she’s a visionary. Orpha chose a tasteful forest scene, which in my opinion lacks some Jeff Goldblum. But that’s just me.
You’ll also need four pieces of wood.

This will form your DIY frame. You can pick them out and actually have them cut at Home Depot, so don’t be intimidated by the idea of having to do woodwork!
Lay your curtain under your assembled frame and start stapling.

Make sure you pull the curtain taut. The tighter you staple it, the smoother the finish will be, and the more it’ll look like a gallery-worthy canvas.
Pop that baby on a wall!

BOOM. How’s that for art on a budget? This is a huge piece that costs very little to make, and can be done again and again in different sizes!
Commenters had some great tips for making it look even better.

This is a really good point. You can avoid seeing the frame if you include a white sheet underneath! It’ll also give the piece a bit of heft, too, making it look more luxurious.
People especially loved how cheap it was.

I mean, I know I personally don’t have $600 to drop on a giant canvas print of a forest. I might have $600 to drop on a huge picture of Jeff Goldblum, however.
So, would you try this?

And more importantly, what novelty shower curtain are you going to use? I dare you to do a Jeff Goldblum one. Come on. You know your dining room needs it.
