Full disclosure: This story is gonna hit different for ’90s kids.
A few months ago, the actress who played Angela in Boy Meets World , Trina McGee, came forward to address some of the racism she faced on the set of the show.
Since then, Danielle Fishel, who played Topanga, has come forward, admitting that she has been “rude, cold, and distant” to Trina in the past.
If you were ever a fan of *Boy Meets World*, then you probably remember Trina McGee, the actor who played Angela: Topanga’s BFF, and of course, Shawn’s girlfriend.
While your memory of the iconic ’90s sitcom might be fond, not everybody feels that way…
A few months ago, Trina came forward, confessing that her relationship with her castmates was less than grand.
Initially, at the beginning of 2020, she opened up in a series of tweets about the racism she faced BTS.
She revealed that she was “Called aunt Jemima on set during hair and make up.”
“Called a bitter [expletive] when I quietly waited for my scene to finish rehearsing that was being f’ed up over and over due to episode featuring my character,” she tweeted.
“Told ‘it was nice of you to join us’ like a stranger after 60 episodes,” she added .
“I did my job and I expect my due,” she wrote in a separate tweet. “25 yrs old at the time raising a family and did not deserve to be thinking about this.”
“None of those three colleagues had children,” she went on. “Just cowardly egos and hot diarrhea mouths”.
When a fan replied , asking if Rider Strong (who played Shawn) was involved, Trina quickly excluded him from her criticisms, clarifying that he had nothing to do with it.

“Not Rider,” she wrote.
Back in April, in an Instagram live video , Trina back-peddled, saying that she was “PMSing” when she made her initial remarks on Twitter.
She then claimed that in hindsight, she doesn’t know if she would still classify the aforementioned behavior as racism or not.
It was later revealed that Will Friedle was the person who allegedly called her Aunt Jemima.
Trina explained that Will did eventually apologize to her which was “healing”.
But she added that she didn’t find it “completely sincere”.
She concluded by explaining that she loves her former castmates, “even without getting some of the love back.”
Prior to Trina shedding light on how she was mistreated while filming Boy Meets World , she made an appearance on the recent spin-off, Girl Meets World .
She had mentioned via Twitter that while she was warm and polite to everyone on set, there was one person that did not reciprocate that same energy.
And Danielle Fishel just admitted that she was “rude, cold, and distant” to Trina during her brief time on Girl Meets World .
After Danielle tweeted her support for the Black Lives Matter movement, she was met with fans questioning whether her support was genuine or not, based on the comments Trina had made.
“I owed [Trina] an apology for being rude, cold, & distant,” she replied .
She explained that one of Trina’s aforementioned remarks, in particular, was about her.
She gave a surprising amount of detail.
“When she guest starred on GMW (her tweet regarding warm hellos being met with cold blank stares was about me).”
“Trina and I spoke over a month ago and she gracefully accepted my apology,” she concluded.

Trina was interviewed by Yahoo Entertainment , and defended Danielle for the way she treated her on the set of GMW .
She said that Danielle was “going through a lot at the time, on a personal level,” excusing her questionable behavior.
But here’s the tea: Trina says she doesn’t speak to Ben Savage whatsoever.
“I do not talk to Ben Savage at all,” she revealed .
It was speculated that in Trina’s original allegations, she was talking about Ben, Will Friedle, and Danielle. But now, I think it’s safe to clear Danielle’s name from that list.
She said the “the tension [and] disrespect,” she received was “extremely stressful.”
I am so glad that Trina and Danielle were able to hash it out and repair their friendship.
Unfortunately, it does not seem like that will be happening anytime soon for her, Ben, and Will.
But time will tell!
