If you love Hello Kitty (which, of course you do) then you’ll be thrilled to know the wait is finally over and our favorite kitty cat is FINALLY getting the respect she deserves, and I’ll be the first to say it’s about damn time!
Sanrio just handed over the rights to Hello Kitty and all her friends to New Line Cinemas.

Since New Line’s deal isn’t just for Hello Kitty, but for all these Sanrio all-stars. So basically, this movie has the potential to be The Lego Movie of Sanrio
The movie deal has been 10 years in the making! TEN! YEARS!

Sis absolutely needs a new agent, preach it @petrasovdat!
We also love a role for mature women in Hollywood, as Hello Kitty is 45!
Meryl Streep whom? Glenn Close whomst? Step aside, there’s a new grown lady in town!
This is Sanrio’s first movie deal outside of Japan!

According to Sanrio founder, President and CEO Shintaro Tsuji — the timing couldn’t be better: “with the positive and family-oriented values that Hello Kitty and Sanrio embody, there has never been a better time than now to share her message with the world!”
Hello Kitty has come along way since being introduced on a coin purse in 1974.

A year later, Hello Kitty was a global phenomenon, and is now recognizable in 130 countries on more than 50,000 different branded products each year — including waffles, tote bags, toasters, clothing and home decor!
I for one remember having all Hello Kitty back-to-school accessories. Hell, I’m a grown woman and have a Hello Kitty plush toy on my grown woman office desk.

I stan a kitty KWEEN!
Fans do have on request though, PLEASE no creepy live action kitty.
We just can’t disrespect our queen like that, ya know?
What do you think of the movie? Will you be rushing to the theaters to see it?

If so, I’ll see you there cause sis WILL BE HOT AND READY FOR IT!
