As Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ trial continues unfolding, the rapper’s former assistant has spoken up about having to clean up after him, and why he had to be the one to do it.
Diddy has several charges against him
The American rapper is currently on trial as he faces five criminal counts: one of racketeering conspiracy, two counts sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, as per NBC News.
Combs pleaded not guilty
Diddy, 55, who was arrested back in September over his charges, has pleaded not guilty.
And with his trial currently taking place, the rapper’s actions and alleged mistreatment of multiple individuals has been coming to light.
His former assistant spoke up
One of the people to testify in court was Diddy’s former assistant, George Kaplan, who spoke up about why he would have to clean the rapper’s hotel rooms instead of hotel staff.
Kaplan would have to follow him to hotels
The rapper’s former executive assistant, Kaplan, said that he would have to follow Combs to hotels across the country and clean up after him.
Testifying in court on Wednesday, May 21, Kaplan specifically mentioned the InterContinental in L.A. and the Trump Hotel in New York as hotels where Diddy would particularly be in.
He mentioned what he’d have to clean up
Speaking about the things he had to clean up from Diddy’s rooms, Kaplan testified, “Yes, bottles of baby oil, Gatorade.”
“Once, brown crystallized powder on the counter of the bathroom sink,” he added.
Kaplan had to protect Diddy’s image
Explaining why he had to be the one to clean up after the rapper instead of hotel staff, Kaplan said because “it was implied” that he had to protect Diddy’s public image.
“It was implied: protect his public image,” Kaplan testified. “I was keen on doing that.”
He also kept a kit for Combs
Kaplan, who testified that he was promoted to executive assistant to Combs in 2014 and held the role until 2015, also added that he kept a kit at hand for the rapper.
He alleged that he kept the kit stocked with Advil and ketamine for Combs.
Others have also testified against Combs
Kaplan isn’t the only person previously close to Diddy to testify in court.
Cassie Ventura, the rapper’s ex-girlfriend, also detailed the ‘freak-off’ parties he would throw and the alleged physical and emotional abuse she suffered.
