The series finale of Game of Thrones left a lot of people with mixed feelings, some of which were very negative.

But everyone seemed to be okay with one thing: Sansa’s fate. She claimed her rightful place on the throne in Winterfell, ruling an independent kingdom.
Sansa Stark has had a very hard life.
Between watching her father die, being tortured and brutalized, and losing her home, she has gone through a lot.
So when fans got to watch her take the throne in Winterfell, they were ecstatic.
It’s what she deserved.
Sansa was always a great leader, and she finally got to take her rightful place.
But there was an Easter Egg that fans may have missed in that final scene.
Let’s backtrack.
Here, you can see that Cersei and Sansa look basically exactly the same.
Why? She was learning from her, and so, mimicked her.
Before her move to King’s Landing, Sansa rocked what seemed to be a classic Winterfell look.
As Harper’s Bazaar noted, both Sansa and Arya wore this style in season one, although Sansa’s looked a bit more pristine and put together than her unruly sister’s.
Twitter users were the first to point this out.
“Admire” probably wouldn’t be the best word to describe how Sansa feels about Cersei these days, but it wasn’t just her hairstyles that she was copying.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Or so they say, anyway.
When she began to learn from the beautiful and intellectual Margaery Tyrell, her hair slowly started to look like Tyrell’s as well.
And it was the same with Dany.
Sansa is extremely smart, and she played her part perfectly in terms of Dany.
But she also learned from the Mother of Dragons. We saw her hair with similar braids.
We’re not lying. This is what Sophie Turner has to say on the subject.
“Sansa’s hair is constantly reflecting the people she’s learning from or mimicking or inspired by at the time,” she told Refinery 29.
But she isn’t mimicking anymore.
“When she’s Cersei’s prisoner and she’s kind of absorbing all her manipulative techniques, it’s reflected in her hairstyle, and when she’s finding the spirit of Margaery in herself, she wears her hair like Margaery,” Turner said.
Now, Sansa doesn’t need to copy anyone’s hair.
Why? Because she is the QUEEN. She doesn’t need to look to anyone, because she can truly be the woman she was meant to be.
She is her own inspiration now.
Some people also think her hair being down might have another meaning.
The freedom of her hair literally being down and not tied up might represent how the North is free and not tied up in the other kingdoms metaphorically.
Others made a connection to a real life ruler.
Queen Elizabeth I was another famous redhead ruler who notably wore her hair down for her coronation. The connection between Elizabeth and Sansa is also an emotional one for fans who have seen this character go through hell.
Sansa Stark endured.
For eight seasons, Sansa Stark fought as many battles as her siblings. She just never used a sword in hers.
Now, she can finally live her best life.
This realization has made a few people emotional.
It’s definitely touching to watch this girl grow up from a scared, naive teenager who dreamed of being queen to a powerful, strong warrior who deserves the crown.
