Since linking suspects to crimes usually involves establishing why their personal feelings towards someone would be intense enough to lead them to act violently, it’s often incredibly difficult to track down serial killers.
Since they don’t necessarily have any connection to their victims or any real reason to meet them, investigators over the years have had to be creative in their efforts to catch these mass murderers.
It’s for this reason that it’s not unusual to see people try to build a psychological profile for a given killer. The idea behind this being that if they can think like the person they’re chasing, they’re more likely to predict their movements and catch them.
So it’s clear why people would want to establish some commonality between serial killers, but reports of one author’s findings do a lot to show how this can be less than helpful if we get carried away.
To understand how the topic of serial killers’ astrological signs has even come up, we need some background on who noticed them.
This is a British author who goes by David Jester and he’s best known for writing both humorous and horrific books.
Unlike past works of his such as An Idiot In Love, however, his latest book definitely falls more on the chilling side of things.
As The Daily Mirror reported , it’s a thriller called The Clinic and while Jester was writing it, he spent about two years researching British and American serial killers.
As he was conducting this research, he noticed that more killers were born between April 20 and May 20 than at any other point in the year.
For those who pay attention to zodiac signs, this would make them Tauruses.
More specifically, he noted that April 24 was one of the two days which saw the most serial killers born out of the year. We’ll get to the other one in due time.
It’s also interesting to note that the month in question features some of the world’s first known serial killers.
As The Daily Mirror outlined , for example, H. H. Holmes, who infamously owned a hotel that was secretly a front for a “murder castle,” was born on May 16, 1861.
His birthday is only a few days away from that of Albert Fish.
I could go into further detail about him, but his crimes against children are honestly too heinous to mention here. He was born on May 19, 1870.
That’s not to say that there aren’t more modern killers who could also consider themselves Tauruses, however.
For instance, May 4 of 1970 saw the birth of Karla Homolka, who participated in the sexual assault and murder of three young women in Canada alongside her ex-husband, Paul Bernardo.

That seems to be just as true in the U.K. as it is in North America as well.
Michael Ryan, a British mass shooter who killed 16 people in Hungerford, England, and a white supremacist named David Copeland who set up nail bombs in London were respectively born on May 18, 1960 and May 15, 1976.
However, let’s keep some things in mind before anyone starts looking suspiciously at people born in late April or early-to-mid May.
Most importantly, there is absolutely no evidence suggesting that the month of someone’s birth has any real bearing on their likelihood to become a serial killer.
For another, it’s just as easy to find an array of infamous serial killers who would fall under almost every other Zodiac sign.
For instance, aside from April 24, February 18 was the day that Jester identified as featuring the births of the most serial killers.
So even if it’s true that the majority of them were born between April 20 and May 20, it turns out to be a pretty small majority.
