Whether you’re channeling your inner “Bridgerton” or embracing a magical vibe from “Practical Magic,” here’s how to turn your fridge into a beautifully styled space that’s as practical as it is picturesque.
You must be wondering, “What exactly is ‘fridgescaping’?”
“Fridgescaping” is the art of organizing and decorating the inside of your fridge with creative themes. It’s all about making your fridge a reflection of your tastes, complete with carefully curated contents that make you smile every time you open the door.
“Fridgescaping” isn’t technically new.
The term “fridgescaping” was first coined by Kathy Perdue, a retired design consultant based in Brentwood, California, in a 2011 blog article as a playful riff on “tablescaping.” However, Perdue’s concept of fridgescaping loosely resembled the modern trend of “fridge restocking” videos, where groceries and storage containers are meticulously arranged like Tetris pieces, creating a visually appealing and practical setup.
Today’s “fridgescapers” have definitely taken that idea up a notch!
You can say that again, alright. When you look up the term on Instagram, a lot of creative ideas pop up. So let’s take a look at some of them. Shall we? First up, content creator Lynzi Judish and her incredible creations.
Anyone into some “Fridgerton” fever?
Why not bring a little Regency charm to your fridge? With vintage containers and elegant organization, you can create “Fridgeton.” Think delicate floral arrangements, pretty pastels, and an overall aesthetic that feels like a scene straight out of your favorite period drama.
Judish said this of her “Bridgerton” fridge masterpiece:
“This fridgerton refrigerator restock was honestly one of the most enjoyable things I’ve done in a while. I just started watching season 3 of Bridgerton, so what better time to romanticize my life with some fridgescaping?”
Honestly, I can’t stop looking at all the details.
From reading many of the comments on her Instagram, I’m not the only one. One fan mused, “It’s too beautiful to close the doors and have the little light turn off!” While another said, “I’ve never seen anyone decorate the inside of their fridge before. So refreshing.”
And look at this fridge inspired by the movie “Practical Magic.”
Isn’t this absolutely stunning? I think the Owens sisters would be very impressed by how intricate this “fridgescapping” design looks. And here’s my favorite fan comment so far:

Haha! I don’t know about you but this totally resonates with me. It’s the kind of dream I would love to have. And I adore all the witchy elements Lynzi included in this version down to a framed picture of the sisters.
But wait, we’re not done. There’s more where this came from!
Lynzi also created an enchanted forest and I’m here for it. Wait until you see the final product. I can’t believe she added string lights. This little yet important detail puts it all together if you asked me. I’m thoroughly enchanted.
How about something a little different, though?
Tablescaper designer @houseofbishophq has a slightly different take on “fridgescaping” with beautifully displayed food items decorated by delicate floral decals. This one is subtle yet still really fun without looking too overcomplicated.
And then there’s this idea of showcasing all your beauty products in your fridge.
Okay, this is definitely not how my fridge looks, haha. But now that I see how it’s done perhaps I should rethink this idea and maybe do one myself. What do you think? I’m just not sure how my husband would feel about it. LOL!
Here’s another gorgeous design to feast your eyes on.
Jenefer Taylor was the actual inspiration for Lynzi Judish’s designs. When Judish saw Jennifer’s take on “fridgescaping” she knew she had to take a crack at it.
Jenefer has some tips for anyone wanting to try their own “fridgescaping.”
Remove everything from your fridge and thoroughly clean the entire space using distilled vinegar or rubbing alcohol. Discard any expired foods, plastic items, or anything you no longer wish to eat.
Put a clean kitchen towel on one shelf for the vegetables. Arrange the items on that shelf without washing them. She recommends washing foods only right before you intend to eat them.
Utilize small containers such as teacups and various-sized bowls and plates to enhance the aesthetic! She enjoys bringing in fragrant roses and fresh herbs from the garden to infuse seasonal scents.
She then places beauty products on one shelf. This is where she keeps her eye cream plus other items and it feels really good when she uses them in the morning or night.
Now Jenefer’s final suggestion – and I truly love this one.
Create a beautiful space that makes you smile every time you open the fridge! This will inspire you to make healthier choices in your daily life. Aww!
After reading all of this, I feel like an expert, so here’s a tip from me (okay maybe not an expert)! Why not incorporate some vintage vibes?
Nostalgia is key! Incorporate vintage dishware, glass bottles, and heirloom finds to create a charming atmosphere. Every time you open the fridge, it’ll feel like stepping back in time, complete with reminders of days gone by.
